Triple (or more) Fusions?

• I'm deciding against it this year. Maybe next year, alongwith animations.

I'm confused about the "Gen 5 Style rule", doesn't breaking the outline/half-pixel rule also break that rule?

• Well yes, but actually no. The "Gen 5" rule is moreso focused on the "game style", and if the game style you break that rule to change it to doesn't have outlines or inherently uses double pixels, that's just how it is - and stays part of the (Style) rule.

If the Style rule can be used to use your own art style, doesn't this mean you can use it to break multiple rules.

• Well yes, but....not really??? If your art style inherently doesn't use outlines, then that's something that is is resultant of the Style rule break. It is breaking multiple rules, but it in itself it changing the nature of the rules. So all of this to say - it's an acknowledged loophole. Don't overabuse it.

Similarly so, if you break the outline rule, you're just taking that away from the traditional Gen 5 style and the rest of your sprite must still follow the rest of the style through it's shading.

As long as the sprite is like - distinctly different enough, then it should be fine.

Same design is fine, just the pose should be different enough than what you've got there to qualify as a "remake"

Since the sprite itself will be high-res via the canvas rule, it is fine to do. Just be sure to make things still different enough rather than just an upscale and reshade, got it?

I really appreciate the datemade rule break because the only contests I was able to have an entry for in time was because it was for a rush or a newly revealed pokemon that I had happened to have made a sprite for already

I get to let one of my old sprites have a chance in the funny contest that would have never happened otherwise :D

Ohhh and there was ironically the make a sprite in a day contest, but that I had to pick a fusion out of a list so I wasn't planning anything out and that sprite was obviously rushed snzusjshsiak
