so i came up with this trapinch idea before i decided what to actually fuse it with, and realized that my arceus fusion i already made works pretty well. would it be against the rules to use this (slightly modified) trapinch fusion that i made before the contest? the base im using is also a custom base that i made a while ago, but that is fine right? totally understand if i need to change the arceus sprite more or go with a different fusion

since i used the same trapinch base for this and for the arceus it was easy to just drag it over and make it fit the 64x64 canvas so that may be too low effort lol

For my contest entry, I made an alt with adjusted colors, since the head mon I used has a weird palette in gen 5. Could I use that as my entry, or will I lose points for not using the standard colors?

It's the same hues, just adjusted to be more vibrant

That's not really cheating; i've been told by sprite managers to just straight up use the HGSS for most gen1/2 pokémon

Charmekyu inists on continuing to use real fire with its costume. It's constantl distracted trying to keep the rest of its costume from burning.

It finally succeeded in making fireproof cloth! Charikyu happily totes around a burning branch, oblivious to the brush fires it leaves in its wake.

Charikyu has fully given up on trying to craft fireproof cloth. It's accepted the fact that its costume will burn, and patches it regularly.

I think it would be awesome to gender Pokémon that are wildly gender neutral (like the anthropomorphic rock) and make the heavily gendered Pokémon gender neutral like you did. Basically swapping all of it.

terapagos is gender-locked where you always get a hardy natured male

but in the code the species is technically 50-50 gender ratio

they could have done that with ogerpon

also most mythical/legendary/etc pokemon like that from previous gens don't have a display gender at all

which would also be fine

but the decision to go "this is both a singular character and a species but also the species is always female" is utterly bizarre

especially when terapagos comes around and proves that they didn't even have to do it that way

I agree that either making it genderless or just doing this same treatment both seem better.
Honestly I felt like they made Ogerpon female because of the traditionally female gender norms that females are more attached and connected, like Ogerpon was to her original trainer.
I don’t love that but it could’ve easily been written off as this specific Ogerpon with her specific trainer, but they just didn’t do that either.
