Hm, I think you used too many highlights to try showing the depth, usually you want to use the shadows to get the shape readable first and then add those, overall it seems too well lit, it's the best to keep the highlight to the thing that is the closest to the lightsource and the camera and not much more

They're froslass ambipom though, they have froslass's face and hands and the colours weren't combined, they're all froslass colours (froslass just has some palettes i could use for ambipom). how would i make the tail look more like it's holding up the body to you, because it looks fine to me. i feel like the reference helped me make choices that help it stand out instead of just "That sure is those two Pokemon combined"

I think the use of the red is weird here since Dusclops only has red in the pupil, especially when it has a drastic color change with those bandages. Besides making it bleed from empty eye sockets feels off for a Pokémon sprite and for a fusion based on Dusclops.
And this is mostly my opinion knowing both Dusclops and Glalie designs, but not using Dusclops teeth in a design with big teeth like Glalie is feels like a wasted oportunity.

I think the main issue I see here is that even if it's Dusclops, the use of their attributes isn't the correct or you used certain IF cliche that aren't actually from Dusclops, so my suggestion could be that next time you might prioritize the original head design before using artistic resources that don't belong to the original design.

there's the 5 colours for the mountain (those don't seem like they'd have an effect since they're all in one place away from the other colours)
a couple of colours for the eyebrows (if they matched the ice they'd blend in too much, MAYBE the mountain's colours could've worked but I don't think that helps with cluttering)
there's like, 2 or 3 colours for the clothing. that maybe could've been a different colour but I'm not sure which.
there's another shade of yellow since froslass's eyes don't have an outline colour but that colour was used for part of the tail hands,
and a few shades of brown that were originally red matching the scarf but to make it read better as wood I changed it when I saw I still had some leftover colours
Soooo mainly the clothing should've been changed from what I see. Is that evaluation good?

the mountain wasn't really needed imo, but you could have reused some other colors in their place. you don't necessarily need to shade with the same color, the games themselves often reuse colors for shading/lineart

mountain's mostly just there for reference (i was gonna make it a more froslass-specific reference but best I could find for that was Mt. Coronet which seems like it would make things REALLY cluttered and isn't really the "Froslass" mountain imo) but it isn't really in the bulk of the content so I don't really see it adding clutter. Just sort of a "Huh, weird, but neat" moment
Actually, I already did re-use colours for shading, purple shading/outline uses the darkest ice colour. Where else could I have reasonably done that?

I get help even in other things I make for fun, but this here was something I had no idea how it'd go. The ice shards are supposed to represent a hoodie tbh, and they're holding a staff/stick. Those two things ARE related to the reference? The ice I could maybe see being cluttered but the stick is just filling empty space since otherwise that hand tail had nothing to do (I forgot the staff since it's not in the main art for them just their in-game model and originally just had them doing the same thing as the hand above)
