It's hard to explain. I like it because it/its doesn't have an association with gender which I like because I am agender. If you wanna know even a pet's gender, you might go, 'are they a girl or a boy?'. Also, that monster you called an it might be sentient still, but how would you know? Also, I like the sense of power I get imagining myself as an 'it' in the sense that I could be a strange little creature that captures the imagination.
