Duskchan bulky and beat down lorelei/bruno, magras with shell smash is the freaking strong alongside that type combo, honchvoir and bellslash are good pivots and can still dish it out, and cactvern is pretty underlevelled but clutched it out at the end vs the rival with seeds and spiky shields. Orifree good moral support.

13th run with refighting the elite four and not using any (pseudo) legendaries twice.
suduwoodo carried me through the early game and fell off hard afterwards.
contrary victreebel/shuckle used leaf storm and became unkillable after grabbing strengh sap, but was only useful for boss fights, because of the low pp of leaf storm.
hustle dunsparce/raticate needed coil to become good, was instantly insane, when it finally got it.
farfetch'd/shuckle was just there for fly, that's why there are two shuckle.

I’ve watched enough streams of this game to feel confident “Blind” Nuzlocking this on my first ever play through. Spiced it up even more by going Randomized in Hard Mode. I nearly wiped to the Triple Bird fight, but thankfully Sylcruel stalled it out. Had to rebuild to the team you see here:

Jirachi/Leafeon - Grass/Steel, Serene Grace. An absolute physical tank with Cosmic Power, Rocky Helmet and Drain Punch recovery. Zen Headbutt flinches were fun too

Mamoswine/Entei - Fire/Ice, Flash Fire: Stealth Rock lead and massive heavy hitter with EQ, Icicle Crash and Sacred Fire. Fell to a crit in the Champion Battle

Reuniclus/Slowbro - Water/Psychic: Defensive Tank. This thing Solo’d Lorelei with a few calm minds and leftovers and then Psychic. Heavy investment in SpD and HP made this thing virtually unstoppable to anything that didn’t hit super effectively

Machamp/Swampert - Ground/Fighting: Didn’t end up using this guy much. There was some tech there with Guts booster EQs, but it usually came out to take a hit to heal the others

Sylveon/Tentacruel - Fairy/Poison: Stalled and SpA tanker. Max investment in HP and SpD made this thing a perfect staller to special attackers with Toxic, Draining Kiss, Venoshock, and Acid Spray. Black Sludge added extra HP recovery

Luxray/Dragonite - Electric/Flying: Multiscale setups with DDance and Extremespeed allowed this fella to revenge sweep as long as nothing resisted it. Roost, Leftovers and Wild Charge provided recovery a bit of coverage

Really enjoyed this game and am looking forward to playing a bit of the post game!

Top-left = Palkia/Necrozma. Sprite by @hallow crown. Carried the last battle against the rival's crazy fusions.
Bottom-left = Metagross/Dhelmise. Sprite by @ionic narwhal. A physical monster with Steel Worker ability and Steel STAB.
Top-middle = Noivern/Aurorus. Sprite by @haughty wyvern. I'm sure I'm not the first to think about this pairing, but Boomburst + Refrigerate + Ice STAB works wonders.
Bottom-middle = Mewtwo/Sableye. Sprite by @glad flare. Sableye was my starter, and I lucked out getting Mewtwo early. Once I saw the sprite I knew I was set.
Top-right = Kyurem/Scolipede. Sprite by @signal prairie. I was really struggling to find a fusion I liked the looks of to go with scolipede, and while I can't say I understand the reference on this one, the visuals were really good, so I stuck with it.
Bottom-right = Tyrantrum/Sharpedo. Sprite by @crimson mist. I really wanted to like this one more, and to be fair, Strong Jaw and Crunch were pretty solid on the damage front. But between the terribly low defensive stats and horrid type combo of Rock/Dark, this poor boy was getting one-shot out of nowhere constantly.

Mono Water hardcore nuzlocke. This run was absolutely insane, the whole thing was a story about the most unlikely hero of all, Lanret. Weak stats, literally only there for Volt Absorb.
Smooth E4 for the first two, went into Lance with 3 mons left after losing two to Agatha that was Rock of all things. Lanret still there. Lance pulls out a fucking Genesect/Houndoom, which takes out one of my 3 mons before going down. Then it's Lanret with a BST of 459 against a Darkrai/Regigas, which I somehow won, followed by another Darkrai fusion, at that point Lanret just saw red.
Going into the champ fight with only Lanret and Lapmence remaining, who would be the only survivor to win the run ? The most insane rise I've ever seen of any single pokemon, Lanret

Mono Ice hardcore nuzlocke. I was expecting this to be a lot harder with ice being terrible, but damn these guys pulled through. Lance and Blue were really rough but most of the run went smooth up to that point

Gallade/Scolipede (Psychic/Poison): a risky, but TERRIFYING sword dance speed boost sweeper. Close combat, Poison jab, and Zen headbutt make for a combo that's hard to resist (not many ghost/dark fusions)

Volcarona/Noivern (bug/Dragon): A really good quiver dance fusion that also hits stupid hard. I mean you got speed, power, boosting move and a good ability with a decent typing. What more could ya want?

Vaporeon/Gardevoir (Water/Fairy): The Defensive backbone of the team that still hits hard. always a good "oh shit" pkmn to retreat too

Roserade/Jolteon (Grass/Electric): this is the "I hate water types" Pokemon. It's fast, has stab volt switch, and hits hard. Typing is also pretty good and somewhat patches up my ground type weakness

Gengar/Porygon (Ghost/Normal): "so let's give gengar 2 stupid good abilites, a better typing, and infinitely better movepool." This thing is just an immediate nuke. Life orb did drain it a bit, but it's power with it's speed is absurd

Metagross/Haxorus (Steel/Dragon): a terrifying dragon dance sweeper. Not as immediately powerful Gallipede, but is MUCH safer due to the typing giving it few weakness and no overlapping weaknesses with my other dragon type. He just hits like a truck that can also tank trucks.

Why would you have gengaas the head? As the body you inherit his great speed, and you lose nothing typing wise.

I don't get the point of Noivern, you're already going to be faster than everything with one quiver dance, so why have Noivern's speed? You're gonna need to take a hit before quiver dance is up, so some extra bulk is nice, and if not that, it'd be nice to have an ability/stats/move that could raise your power. Noivern is cool for being fast and having Boomburst, but it's kinda pointless with volcarona imo.

Okay but you're a set up sweeper, you're not a revenge killer. If you're looking to outspeed and clean up kills, then just be choiced to pack more immediate speed/power and serve that function of a revenge killer. If you actually want to sweep you need that quiver dance boost, and the extra speed/less bulk/less power hurts you for that purpose. If you're worried about being able to outspeed and get a specific kill that enables a sweep, use a revenge killer not a setup sweeper.
