Heavy Slam would be an amazing 2nd STAB for just raw damage

But there is also the option of Bullet Punch as a great priority move

That can help vs the likes of the Ice/Darks and other fast, frail mons

For bulky Steel types, Earthquake is fully accurate, but doesn't get the Tough Claws boosts and noticeably falters vs Ferrothorn, while Hammer Arm does get the boost but is inaccurate and lowers Speed

Both moves fail to get past the Steel/Flyings

So for them, you need Thunder Punch for a 2HKO, which extends to Moltres, but not Gliscor, Zapdos, Lando-T etc

For them, you'd need Ice Punch, but Ice Punch doesn't cover the previously mentioned Flying types

And either ways, they'd at best 2HKO Zapdos/Moltres

Which means 2 chances for Static/Flame Body

Then there's Knock Off, which cripples these birds and Gliscor in a different way: By removing their items that they heavily rely on

Item removal in general is very strong, and Knock Off also helps Metagross out vs bulky Psychic types and Gholdengo (especially Air Balloon which is immune to EQ)

It also has Pursuit to trap and eliminate Psychic types and Stealth Rocks to become a hazard setter
