Citizen Snips is basically what happened when something sets up acupressure and builds up to something absurd, usually because the first boost was either evasion or a defense stat you were about to hit

You compare this to B&W2 It takes place 3 years after the first games and shows an entier new story to go alongside with it.

IVs are an innate value that can be passed down by breeding that directly effects stats, going up to 31 (At max level with a neutral nature, 1 IV=1 stat point). IVs used to only be able to be manipulated before obtaining the Pokemon of choice, but now at max level you can max them out with bottle caps (When rusty bottle cap to lower IVs for Foul Play and Trick Room interactions, Gamefreak?)
EVs are a stat that you gain by using vitamins (10 each), using EV Feathers (1 each) or by beating wild Pokemon (which have set EV Yields based on species) that go up to 510 (252 per stat). At max level with a neutral nature, every 4 EVs give an extra 1 stat point. You can lose EVs using the EV reducing berries (10 per berry). You used to be unable to get EVs over 100 with vitamins, and since EV growth is linked to battling, a level 100 Pokemon cannot gain more than 100 EVs in a stat. They also used to max out at 255 per stat. However, this changes nothing apart from potentially missing out on effectively 8 EVs.

Fun fact: IVs and EVs are why Pokemon with Huge/Pure Power experience a much larger boost in terms of base stat than the actual stat. Huge/Pure Power effectively double the Attack stat, meaning that it doubles the stat after these IVs and EVs take effect, making it effectively double the stats you gain from them.

Generally for those waves I end up just setting up on the starter and start sweeping shit

Only issue is when the rival swaps in the main issue

So if you're using something that really sucks against it in terms of type MU it can get dicey if the rival doesn't have another thing that should have a good type MU vs it

Volcarona for example

Though if your rival gets a Water starter and your Volcarona has Drought it's free

For some inexplicable reason abilities no longer work based on speed in Pokerogue

So even if your rival has Empoleon with Drizzle, despite it being slower than Volcarona, Volcarona's Drought gets priority

Or rather, it gets negative priority

Making it activate 2nd and overwrite the rain

When usually, Volcarona's should activate first and Empoleon's Drizzle would overwrite

This unfortunately also applies to stuff like Ngas

So if you get absurdly shit luck now you have to deal with Sandstorm chip

When usually you should be able to outspeed a majority of the Sand Stream mons to get Neutralising Gas up first

Like, the mons with Sand Stream are Hippowdon, Gigalith and Ttar

47, 25 and 61 base speed

Mega Ttar has 71 but idk if a singular trainer uses Mega Ttar in Pokerogue

For reference, both Weezings have 60 speed

So even a singular Carbos, or a better IV roll or something means you always get up Ngas before Ttar

Since it is far faster and can hit hard

Though, Rayquaza does weaken it by removing Orichalcum Pulse from play

And Swords Dance is only an egg move for Koraidon

It does learn Screech which is usually hot garbage but could be useful here to guarantee the Dragon Claw KO

Also mb I meant TM move

My brain doesn't brain sometimes

I never rely on TM movepool for these runs because it's so hard to get the specific one you need

You have to beat your own Pokemon to actually change the ability though

Usually when looking for this event I either bring a Pokemon and purposefully have it be dead weight or I bring a perfect counter to it (the latter isn't applicable often though)

Even just a quad weakness isn't always a perfect counter

I mean it probably is for Gliscor it isn't the most offensively threatening thing ever

But let's say that for whatever reason you lack Technician on Scizor

Idk why you would

It's a base ability

But it's for the theoretical

Well, now you're facing down a Tinted Lens Bullet Punching machine

And in my experience, that's more than enough to drop a lot of frailer Fire types

The bulkier ones tend to fucking die to the bigger moves

Thankfully, it won't actually have Technician during this battle

But if you went after Scizor's HA, let's say maybe you want to unlock it for Kleavor

Chances are you already have Technician on it

And things just got even more problematic

There's some Pokemon you just should never challenge

In those events

Scizor is possible if you have something like Heatran

But if you want to do the event on Miraidon, you are forfeiting the run

Nothing is surviving more than 2 hits and most are dying in 1

And with that bulk and the event's tendency to give the Pokemon like 50 million shields

Yeah no that's just signing up to lose your run

Especially since all you get from it for Miraidon is either a new ability or higher IVs

The former of which is obtainable without the event

The latter is just not worth the trouble
