Yeah, when there's a specific event for a specific pokemon, you usually get incenses to summon them to your camp
You can't always catch them first try bc their friendship bars are sometimes HUGE
So if it's an event involving a legendary (currently we only got the beast trio), you can get a lot of the incenses from missions
And end up with only one or two in your actual team after seeing dozens
I'm still a little salty I wasn't able to get a mimikyu this Halloween event, even after using its incense twice. It showed up but didn't want to be friends :(
