I think gen 8 was the first time version exclusive gym leaders have different types instead of same type, different mons

Plus it supports the idea of the Galar League being like an association football league of some kind

Unlike Battle Bond, Own Tempo Rockruff became obtainable in Gens 8 and 9

And Own Tempo/Tough Claws aren't exactly signature abilities with flashy effects either

Leftover from when that was the way you'd get pokemon to obey you. Instead of badges you had colored belts like in martial arts but that were used as whips to control your pokemon.

Thankfully they changed their mind but the whips stayed for some particularly strong trainers and also Team Rocket.

I think the anime showed the the tamers at least using them more for the sound than anything

but yea earlier pokemon gens were much more of the "animals with powers" mentality until about... gen 3 or so turned it into what we know them as now

which bumps up the accuracy from 80% to 88%

shame this raticate has speed then otherwise I could use the zoom lens to bump it up to 96% accuracy

since zoom is 20% if you go second

that's what Azumarill is using to make aqua tail and play rough both have 100% accuracy (would be 99% with wide lens)

out of the hustle users most of them are decently fast, I think corsola's the only one that'd be really getting the most from zoom lens

also I think the only way raticate can boost its accuracy otherwise is to Snatch hone claws or lock-on from something
