I’ve been reading through Haruka’s notes and damn did she have some wicked ideas for Pokémon post Gen 3

Like she wanted a ranking system in place which would be in flux so gym leaders would be all competing against each other and the top 5 were the Elite 4 and Champion. This implied that you could have had at least 17-18 main trainers. Add in rivals and boy howdy.

And that your actions would influence the game, so taking out a gym leader would benefit their rivals for example and whoever was the current champion would influence certain things about the game.

Basically she wanted to have more RPG elements into Pokémon and really make it your own story.

Thinking about it Sword/Shield were probably the closest games to her vision.
