You know, it's been awhile since we've had a good villain in Pokémon. Team Flare felt kind of botched and wasn't given a second chance due to the lack of Pokémon Z. Team Skull were the comic relief villains meant to tide us over until the Ather Foundation took center stage. And when Ather did become the main villains, it turns out that Lusamine's big evil plan was "go to an alternate dimension". Then Team Yell was the most pathetic evil team we've had by far and Macro Cosmos did nothing until the butt end of the game. Up until this point, I was only using my starter Emboar. Shauntal has a Jellicent, Grimsley has a Krookadile and Caitlin’s entire team is psychic type, so I lost to them all several times

Eventually, I managed to get past Caitlin and Grimsley by teaching Emboar Giga impact and Hyper beam using TMs from shopping mall 9.

What's a good place for exp?

For starters, the rotation battle house in opolucide and the sports stadiums in Nimbasa let you rebattle the trainers in there daily. Other than that, your best bet is probably victory road

Anyway, I eventually trained up a Jellicent (I was impressed by its immunity to normal moves) and Tornadus (the only legendary I was able to catch (I killed all three of the swords of justice)) and beat the league on my next try.

And then of course, I reset the game during the credits because I wasn’t able to skip them and figured that the game would’ve saved, and I had to redo the entire league over again

Zoroark just reminds me of Lucario for different reasons than most others:Lucario is a gen 4 mon despite only existing in Sinnoh as an “egg from a faraway place” while you can find wild Riolu in Gen 5 (BW2 has them very early on)
Likewise Zoroark is a Gen 5 mon despite there being only 1 Zoroark in BW, and having to get Zorua via Gift in both Gen 5 games
