Am I the only one that likes both having a challenge (challenge relative to by abysmal skiills) in pokemon romhacks/fangames and the ability level grind as much as I want? Pretty much every harder hack or fangame has some forced Level Cap which I hate.
The way I see it grinding is both a punishment for beeing bad at a game and a guranteed way to progress eventually no matter how bad your are.
I think in general in RPGs that things should be balanced so that you can beat games without grinding if you're good, but have the option to grind to garantee beeing able to beat the game eventually if you spend enough time.
Without a way to grind the only alternative is either "git good" by trial and error which can get really frustraing and grindy if you don't find the right strategy right away or look up a guide which feels kinda cheap since then your using somone elses team composition/moveset/strategy
I just wish there was an option to turn off level caps in the harder fangames/romhacks but a lost of them force some kind of level cap.

especially the ones where the cap is lower than a lot of bosses you'll be fighting

but yea at least on the gen 3 hack side I know level capping was both more of a recent thing and usually optional (at least in the ones I played since I haven't played many ones released after 2020)

with vanilla vega's first gym being practically impossible unless you either chose water starter, ground something to at least 6 levels higher than the gym, or followed a very specific strat that involved both growl/potion stall and trading a 5% encounter for that had insomnia (minus and viva both thankfully nerfed/removed the offending ||curse + spore shuckle|| in question)

Favorite shiny fossil, hm. Tyrantrum is my favorite shiny fossil, but because it’s overdone, I’d say my 2nd favorite shiny fossil is Rampardos because Red Skull and hail hydra (joke.) Favorite fossil is definitely Aerodactly! Fun fact, it was my first shiny ever! Got it in sun and moon…unfortunately because it’s sun and moon I thought as a kid “Alolan Aerodactly?!” Then I traded it to never see it again.

Couldn't take the grind anymore, especially with Lv. 70-80 opponents when I'm only in my late 50's

I don't think I made it past gym 4 because that was a nuz and I got TPK'ed by +6 evasion

I did do runs of both vega minus (which gives you flash with 40 base power before gym 1 so you can at least cut shuckle's accuracy down to nothing with a special attack) and viva las vega (which just replaces the shuckle with a far more managble postgame mon)

i have Y as well, wait til you get to the town where the stone circle is, the route with all the stone blocks on it, is where you catch eevee's and its also how i got all my eeveelutions way back when.

all of which are now lvl 100 in pokemon scarlet

i faught the league with them in Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Sun, Pokemon Ultra Sun, Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Legends Arceus (didnt fight league but did beat game), and now pokemon Scarlet.

they have been with me over a span of 7 games

all 8 eeveelutions...and 1 eevee

granted i have a gigantimax eevee in sword at lvl 87

i also had them in pokemon shield and pokemon violet because i have both versions so it was actually 9 games they have been in.

A duck is an avian creature (to an extent, just stay with me on this), and a lion is a land based animal, which means that if Game Freak had gone through with beta Porygon2, then Porygon-Z might've been made into a fish, an aquatic creature, completing the basic trifecta of animal types.

• 8 for Paldea

Only way to even reach 5 for Kalos was with the last 2 not having flying companions, cuz only 3 lines and the legendary even learn fly in Kalos (and come from the region)

That is a pretty solid team. You got a pretty good amount of type coverage there for attacks and good resistances and some immunities on the team for defense so I'd say that's definitely a solid team.

Ok. So I'm going to put a grass gym in the volcano city. I think I'll make that the second gym. I'll do a dark type gym for the first one. We need another dark type gym and it's something that all 3 starting types are neutral with. The lake city is definitely a water type gym.
