May as well ask here, I imagine plenty of people here know their stuff, lol. So I've had the ideal team I want to someday assemble in mind for some time now, and I thought I had it all figured out, but now I have somewhat of a conflict. The ones I'm sure about are Feraligatr, Corviknight, Tyrantrum, Krookodile, and Gardevoir. The last slot I'm stuck between and would appreciate any input on which would be a better fit for my team between Salazzle and Skeledirge. If it's relevant one of my larger priorities for team comp is type coverage, otherwise my team would've been packed with Fossil Pokemon. XD

I'm almost tempted to say salazzle because that gives your team some much-appreciated speed
Dirge is generally better in combat (especially with unaware) but salazzle does help out on giving you something with high speed and the type conflicts a bit less with krook (I also forgive I read "tyrantrum" as "tyranitar" at first)

for both of them STAB is appreciated (sludge bomb/wave and flamethrower for salazzle, shadow ball and torch song for dirge)
salazzle generally errs more on a glass cannon with things like nasty plot and dragon pulse, hyper voice, or tera blast in its last slot (assuming you aren't using a STAB tera) but can also go for a support-ish set with moves like Acid Spray and Toxic/Venoshock. I would not suggest doing the former outside of tera raids but the option's there
Dirge on the other hand can also drop shadow ball to run a very similar set with WoW and Hex, though in this case it benefits more from the attack drop that comes with a burning opponent
Dirge also has great coverage in Earth Power (and ||the new alluring voice||) so running 4 attacks is also an option. (||Scorching Sands can also condense WoW and earth power into one moveslot, albeit the burn chance being a bit sketchy at 30%||)
Encore and Slack off (?) are also great non-offensive options that dirge can take advantage of
Dirge overall has more options but is also much slower, depends on if you want salazzle's extra speed to jump something looking to become dangerous or a teammate that can last longer on the battlefield
if you wanted to proverbially go swimming with sharks you could also run flame charge on dirge to get that speed but that is very much uncharted waters and I do not suggest that if you're new to this lol

I had a genius idea for a pokemon fangame. A romhack of USUM that revamps the entire story and lore, intended as a "third version" of completely different lore that wouldnt fit with USUM. Huge detail here is that the Regi quintet and the Tapu quartet are swapped with eachother. The regis take the role of "Island Guardians" and have the design overhaul to look more like the Tapus (but only in spirit, they dont parallel any specific Tapu, they are their own.) with their own terrain and their typing kept (regice is ice/fairy, for example). Registeel-Melemele, Regirock-Akala, Regice-Ulaula, Regidrago-Poni, Regieleki-Aether, Regigigas-All of them, but spends most of its time at the Altar of the Eclipse (sunne/moone). And Sogaleo/Lunala dont play that crucial of a role, instead giving up most of their role and their cinematic fight with Necrozma to my homie Regigigas 🔥 (Nebby is still there though and has their normal role. Cosmoem just evolves via wormhole and can switch between Sogaleo/Lunala at one). Regigigas is unchanged. Regieleki is directly implied to be extremely young. Maybe even a flashback scene of creation.
This stemmed from a brief imagination of "what if protag and lillie got attacked by a druddigon after they crossed the bridge instead of small birds on the bridge" and "what if i made a tapu regi and a regi tapu fakemon" at the same time

All of those are really good pokemon to use as a water type, I'm pretty sure gyarados has the best move pool for coverage(not 100% certain on that), and I think t-tar is really late game on Mt.Silver so idk if he is possible so sudowudo is probably the better option if t-tar isn't possible, shuckle takes more effort to use well.
