Gravemory are formed near volcanoes as part of basalt deposits. When a Gravemory is new, it is completely rocky grey and brown. However, as they age and battle, the rock crumbles away, revealing the gemstone underneath. There has been only one reported sighting of a fully crystal Gravemory since this Pokémon's discovery.

Rhyhorn/Machop (111.66) (Rhyhops frequently venture into the world to seek challenges, often seeking challenges of strength. They are particularly prone to helping other pokemon in need for both the act of doing so and to gain recognition for their strength, though in less scrupulous Rhyhops this can turn into a bit of an issue. Many Trainers find Rhyhop to be an invaluable partner, but as Rhyhops can have an aggressive nature when they feel threatened, they are more of a pick for very patient Trainers.)
