Yeah, some of studies is tracing over references of bodies and hands into shapes then drawing that on the side. A lot of art do be breaking things down into simple shapes after all.

My advice is to look at the overall shape all the fingers make together, first. After you draw that, you can put the fingers within that shape

Here’s a quick guide I threw together from my own artwork on how I break down hands into simple shapes! Keep in mind I’m still an amateur when it comes to drawing humanoid characters but this tip helps me a lot.

I usually divide each finger into 2-3 segments and make sure they stay a similar length among all 5. Make sure to have the webbing inbetween. The hand is usually just a trapezoid but on occasion I draw it more 3D.

This same technique can be simplified for more ‘chibi’ or stubby styles as well! Here’s more examples, again from my own art.

And, with enough practice, pretty much any hand-like digit can be done this way! Anthropomorphic paws, for example.

References help a lot, but don’t just trace over the references - try to think about how to construct them from these segments I showed.

The final evo grass starter feels like just a bigger version of the middle starter

I guess that's okay if you're going for like gen 2 vibes

aight so a while ago I read a really good ben 10 classic AU where bad guys were good and vice versa, but the main cast was still good and it wasn't finished and it has my stupid brain in a vice grip ANYWAY HAVE CHIMERAN BEN and an XLR8

Khyber in this AU(to me anyway) is an eccentric conservation nut. He still catches shit but it's for the purpose of species restoration. Dude still hunts things, usually catch and release, but kills if the quarry is something that's overstepping its usual niche or spot in the food chain.
