Nothing huge changed about the design, but I changed its pose mostly. Corrected some proportions too. But overall the design largely stayed the same from the last version I made for it.

I think at around the time XY was released (or maybe even earlier), I had designed some of my own Pokémon. Then at the beginning of this year, I used a program to draw them.

First up that I’m going to post is the regional bug and the cocoon. They don’t have names yet. and I’m only posting these two images, because I’m not sure if discord file size will let me post the whole evolution line

And then something new to Pokémon: The regional bug branches at what comes out of the cocoon (Wurmple has branched evolution, but this one I made branches at a stage later)

Of course, the stink bug looking one is poison type. For the hornet, it could either be rock type, or ground type, since both types would work for what I intend the hornet with a hand stinger to be. It could use the hand stinger to throw rocks (making it bug/rock), or it could use the hand stinger to dig into the ground and throw at opponents (making it bug/ground)

And now for the regional bird. Some kind of early route duck thing that evolves into a storm cloud bird. I would like to mention that I’ve designed these on paper around 7+ years ago.

And then the storm cloud bird has a split evolution, depending on the Atk/Def or SpAtk/SpDef being higher than the other. Originally, they were going to be Electric/Psychic and Electric/Fighting, but then as I was drawing them on my laptop, I thought that was weird, so I kept them both as Electric/Flying, but gave them abilities that work like a Fighting or Psychic version of Pixelate.

Then Leafkey evolves into (unnamed), and it’s a bit scared that it suddenly grows machine parts and becomes Grass/Steel. But (unnamed) won’t be afraid of its appearance for much longer, because when it evolves into Orangutron, it accepts that it’s half machine.

I had a artist get mad at me for asking if he could draw something for me when I was young. He wanted $100 and said it would take a month. The AI generator is instant and is only $20.

And in actual art you can appreciate the details

If you try to do that with ai images, you quickly find emptiness and a lack of care

perhaps one of the most important pieces of art because they convey motion/action

Yes it has but it does good for what it does. Yes it may be flawed but thats ok. Because nothing is perfect. It's good for me because I don’t like some art work. I had some people try to draw for with all the specifics. But then they make it how they want it to look and then it looks nothing like what I wanted. With the AI I can keep rerolling the images until I find what I like. It does better with prompts than what people can do.

So yeah, some may not like it because it's "not real art" but that doesn't mean everyone doesn't like it. I like it and that's what matters.

I understand how ai can be a good tool for artist, but it should stay as a tool, it shouldn't do all the work. AI can't make an illustration with all the concept and design an artist would come up with, under the surface it's still has no intent for all the color and the composition. So as a tool, yes. but other than that it's a no for me :/
