Hello all, I have been playing for a while on what I believe is the update before legendary mode was added(so 6.?.x vs 6.7.x) and have a save of a completed dex(all 501 caught), and a couple other saves I don't want to lose. I am playing on an Android Samsung Galaxy A25 5G with Joiplay and the game has worked great so far. My question is can I completely reinstall the game to update(which from what I understand I have to on android/joiplay?) and keep my "old" saves? I am familiar with moving files on my phone and all of this, just asking for a bit of guidance. Thanks!

tl;dr, they're doing a twitch plays PIF thing and some of the more nipply miltank sprites are upsetting their community, so they want to remove those from their personal game copy
problem is, the new spritesheet format makes that confusing and difficult to do

Yeah there's not really a way to do that since it's spritesheets instead of 300,000+ PNG images.

They could import other sprites that they feel are more appropriate to what they're looking for, to replace the ones in game, if they'd like to try that.

Forwarding what I put in spdisc on this: There is no easy way to remove sprites from your personal game files. Only way would be to manually remove them from the sheets after turning off download data but then you're gonna be missing any sprites that weren't downloaded and your credits are gonna be all fucked up

Hey @tough blade! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, use the preloaded version in #downloads (Windows Only)!

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall using the preloaded files in #downloads .
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps to fix:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF

To fix crashes on specific trainers in legendary mode:

1. Leave the area (if in a building, go outside)
2. In the Game Options, toggle trainers from classic to remix (or vice versa)
3. Go back to that trainer and try again.
4. After the battle, you may change the trainers back to their original setting.

If you get a different crash when you toggle the trainers, try moving to a different area.

To successfully import your own custom sprite, please follow these steps:

Sprite Requirements:

1. Format: The sprite must be in .png format.
2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.
3. Size: Sprite must be 288x288

Importing Your Sprite:

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers/Sprites to import.

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. You should be deleting all of your old game/launcher folders! DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

Reinstalling on Windows does not affect Save Files in any way. For all other platforms, refer to the installation guides for your device!

For some reason, which I don't know what that is, when I first get to Johto, I explored the route outside Goldenrod city and captured to pokemons, at this point still have no problem. However, when I get to pokemon center and healed my pokemons then went to the Goldenrod gym, answered the question from the 1st trainer, then on the 2nd when I failed to answer correctly, we battled and I beat the first pokemon, that is when the bug happened.

after beating the pokemon, my pokemon still continued to attack non-stop until it used up all of the PP left for the move I used to beat the pokemon. then I said, let' s try another pokemon, the trainer did not release the other pokemon she has and I tried to attack with a certain move, it repeat the same bug attacking nothing and winning gaining exp and leveling up until the PP of the move are all used up. then I said, maybe I can run away from the battle for now, so I lost the match, then I went to the pokemon center to check with the fix man, tried the same actions again and gained same results. that time, I ran from the battle again, and quit the game.

After quitting the game, restarted my laptop, tried again, but the problem still persisted. so, then I tried fighting pokemons from the route and it still displayed the same bug error notif, but since there's no other pokemon to fight, it finished the fight as expected. but then I tried to battle the trainer on the way, and the trainer has two pokemons, then I got the same problem and attacking non-stop again until the PP were used up and then I just ran away from the match.

after that I just quit the game and sent the screenshot to this channel

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.

Occasionally some sprites are taken out, if the spriter requests it. But if that happens, they also get removed from the sites

When you have all 501, go to Celadon City and into the large apartment building. On one of the floors will be an NPC at a desk with a Natu(plush?). Talk to them to get the boots. You can also get a special role for completing the dex in the discord

Hey @shrewd wigeon! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

• You can complete the Pokedex in either Classic or Remix mode, not in Randomized. If you're playing Random, you will not get the boots
• In Remix mode, Pokemon like Feebas and Bagon are able to be encountered on certain routes. In Classic, you would need to go farther out of your way to find these Pokemon, such as doing quests. These same quests are available in Remix.
• Once you get debug, you can take it to other saves, I don't remember how, but one of the Porygons might know.
• I don't know how many hours it takes, I'm about 24+/- hours into my file that has 413/501.

You put the magic boots on in a save that has them, exit to the menu and start a new game. Debug remains active until you completely close the game (or manually remove the boots)

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, go to #ask-a-bot and type in ?tag altdownload and reinstall with the guide that Deino replies with. This is only meant for Windows devices. the error is simply your device unable to complete the calculations.

give your device a true restart.
use the windows "restart" option. not turning it off and on again.
then try using performance.exe to make the save.

just know, you cannot effectively have 2 randomized saves. they will share the same randomized encounters.

To clean out your computer:

To fix crashes on specific trainers in legendary mode:

1. Leave the area (if in a building, go outside)
2. In the Game Options, toggle trainers from classic to remix (or vice versa)
3. Go back to that trainer and try again.
4. After the battle, you may change the trainers back to their original setting.

If you get a different crash when you toggle the trainers, try moving to a different area.
