If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.

  2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.

Importing Your Sprite:

  1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
  2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers/Sprites to import.
  3. Paste your sprite into this folder.

In-Game Instructions:

  2. The game will automatically detect the new sprites.

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. You should be deleting all of your old game/launcher folders! DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

Reinstalling on Windows does not affect Save Files in any way. For all other platforms, refer to the installation guides for your device!

For windows only!

If you're using the Launcher:

  1. Delete your old launcher folder.
  2. Reinstall version 1.1.2 of the launcher from HERE (Yes, even if you're already on 1.1.2)
  3. Open the settings tab
  4. Click "Reset Config"
    NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher(#.#.#)/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion
  5. Install/Update the game files.

If you're not using the Launcher:

  1. Delete your old game folder.
  2. Reinstall the Lightweight installer in a NEW folder from Here

The error you are having is due to a corrupted save in your save folder conflicting with your current save.

Note: Ensure you know which save file is corrupted before continuing. You can see the save slot on the save selection screen.

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Delete the save file causing issues.
  4. If you don't know which it is, you can remove the save 1 by 1 from this folder until you find it

If you want to revert your save to a backup, use ?tag backups for more info.

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

How to Update to the Latest Version (Windows)

  • If you're on or above 6.6.0 double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat to update.
  • If you're below 6.6.0 you must either reinstall in a NEW folder (since the updater won't work due to bugs) or use the New Launcher to update.
  • Reinstalling doesn’t remove or require you to move any Save Files.
  • If playing on a Randomized save, make sure to reshuffle after updating. Use ?tag reshuffle if you need help.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy so I downloaded the Steam Deck version of the game from the Steam Deck link onto my Steam Deck and all seems to be going well so far, it downloaded just fine, added it to my library just fine, but it won’t launch. I assume this is because I don’t have wine or whiskey, the emulators yall suggest using in the read me files, but I looked into both of them and whiskey seems to be dead and wine is INCREDIBLY confusing and complicated. Hey @ashen warren! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. You should be deleting all of your old game/launcher folders! DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

Reinstalling on Windows does not affect Save Files in any way. For all other platforms, refer to the installation guides for your device!

For windows only!

If you're using the Launcher:

  1. Delete your old launcher folder.
  2. Reinstall version 1.1.2 of the launcher from HERE (Yes, even if you're already on 1.1.2)
  3. Open the settings tab
  4. Click "Reset Config"
    NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher(#.#.#)/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion
  5. Install/Update the game files.

If you're not using the Launcher:

  1. Delete your old game folder.
  2. Reinstall the Lightweight installer in a NEW folder from Here

  • If you're on or above 6.6.0 double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat to update.
  • If you're below 6.6.0 you must either reinstall in a NEW folder (since the updater won't work due to bugs) or use the New Launcher to update.
  • Reinstalling doesn’t remove or require you to move any Save Files.

Well I originally did so cause I got stuck in the Rocket Warehouse on Chrono Island (surrounded in a corner), but it had also ended up returning my infinite splicers which had just disappeared when I was playing a few days ago. I was using it within the box when it prompted to choose which splicer to consume and after a few times it just...wasn't there anymore. In my bag or anywhere. I didn't realize the debugger could return it, I'll admit I just thought if it was if you soft locked yourself, so I didn't think to use it at the time.

I think it was referring to the splicers when it told me to report it since it prompted me to do so right after they were added back.

Yes, I was stuck in this spot with the two grunts circled in red had chased after me and froze me in place and got in the spots of the green circles. After defeating them I realized there was no way out and I had forgotten to save for the past half hour or so, so I used the debugger since it I had remembered it said to only use it if you were stuck (I just double checked and apparently it's if you were stuck because of a glitch so I actually shouldn't used it since it was more so my fault being in a bad spot. Should've just soft reset instead but alas it is what it is now). I activated it and it showed the usual dialogue of you running back to the Pokemon Center. After that the normal text box showed up and acted like I was being given the infinite splicer and the upgraded infinite splicer back to back for the first time, with it asking if I wanted to register them as well. If I was thinking I would have taken screenshots of that but I had thought it was a normal function of the debugger that I was just unaware of until it told me to go the the bug-reports channel. Sorry if any of this has accidentally come across as accusatory or mean or anything of the sort, I'm not always the best with tone especially when typing. I'm just trying to give the clearest recounting of events as I can just in case anything helps.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, go to #ask-a-bot and type in ?tag altdownload and reinstall with the guide that Deino replies with. This is only meant for Windows devices. Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

How to Update to the Latest Version (Windows)

  • If you're on or above 6.6.0 double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat to update.
  • If you're below 6.6.0 you must either reinstall in a NEW folder (since the updater won't work due to bugs) or use the New Launcher to update.
  • Reinstalling doesn’t remove or require you to move any Save Files.
  • If playing on a Randomized save, make sure to reshuffle after updating. Use ?tag reshuffle if you need help.

Hey, did anyone managed to run the .bat script on Steam Deck? Seems like using q4wine (following the official tutorial) transforms the path into /run/user/1000/whatever instead of /home/deck/Games/InfiniteFusion, and since the script requires the folder to be called InfiniteFusion, it doesn't work. Did you guys install q4wine outside Flatpak? AFAIK sandboxing is the issue

Hello so I recently got a new device and after doing a data transfer I noticed that JoiPlay had transferred and everything for Infinite Fusion except for the actual save data. When I try to enter the game it shows this screen.
So I'm wondering how I would go about transferring the game and the save file to my new device.

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, you can either download the newest spritepack from #spritepack-releases (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID) or use the alt download (mentioned at the bottom of this message)

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

If for some reason none of this works, type ?tag altdownload in #ask-a-bot and reinstall using those files (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)
