when I launch the game (either via the launcher or via the loader in the file folder) it launches the classic small window, but it's black instead of covered in the graphic, and immediately closes after 2ish seconds :/

Only other thing you could try (no guarantees) is make a classic save and go to the help man in Viridian pokecenter and try randomizing from there

Wondering what the different game files are?

  • InfiniteFusion.exe is the normal game. You don't need sprite packs as they are downloaded automatically with the latest sprites as you play.
  • Game.exe is a duplicate of InfiniteFusion.exe that will likely be removed in a later update.
  • InfiniteFusion-performance.exe is the lighter version of the game required to make it work on slower computers. It has long black screen start up and pc/party sprites are invisible until your next game restart. For new sprites, monthly sprite-packs must be downloaded manually.

Be aware, controllers will be auto mapped to buttons depending on which controller you plug in.

To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is not going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, you may need to download and import the newest full spritepack from #spritepack-releases. Do NOT download the pack if you plan on also playing while connected to the internet. The spritepacks are also NOT meant to be imported on Android devices!

My situation:

  • I turned Autosave on
  • Game never autosaved (even though I healed at pokemon centers several times)
  • I lost my first 10 hours of gameplay

However, I did use the Debugger twice as a teleporter because I was too lazy to walk… Does the Debugger turn autosaves off? That’s the most-reasonable explanation I can think of, since you wouldn’t want to autosave after triggering a glitch

No, there's something else going on. Have you checked your settings to verify it's toggled on when reloading back into the save?

Like after you loaded in from losing 10 hours, check your options and see if it shows as being on

Then from there, check your back up folder and see if there is a save in backups that is more recent

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

Hello, I was being silly and tried fixing stuff without looking stuff up and now I have reached a problem. I manually downloaded the spritepack after playing for a bit and noticing some sprites were not working, but then I noticed it didn't give credit to the artist if you did this. So I kept the download from online option on, and then it flooded my dex with options. Now I have deleted PIF and redownloaded it from the ground up, with my save file still here and all the sprites are the autogenned ones. I tried fixing my earlier issue by deleting all the custom sprites like a dummy and now here I am, how do I fix this while preferably having the fusions credit the artists?

Do this first: navigate to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

It's for other things that might be wrong. Right now it's mainly been for returning lost infinite splicers. There is an actual bug report on roaming legendaries giving the RGSS script though (Which is why I pinged Ymir, I can't go in and fix stuff even if I was home lol)

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, you may need to download and import the newest full spritepack from #spritepack-releases. This bug nearly softlocked my whole computer. I literally couldn't even get out of the game because these errors were popping up over and over again

Luckily, every time an error popped up, the opponent's Belch lost 1 PP, so itt eventually stopped when they ran out of PP. But I was afraid I was going to have to turn off my whole computer to get out of this loop x.x

Beware of Unofficial Websites That Claim To Be Official.

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

To clean out your computer:

  1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and fake data that the normal game doesn't have.
    🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
  2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
  3. Run a virus scan

After doing all the steps, use #downloads to download the real files.

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, download the newest spritepack from #spritepack-releases (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

If for some reason none of this works, type ?tag altdownload in #ask-a-bot and reinstall using those files (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. You should be deleting all of your old game/launcher folders! DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

Reinstalling on Windows does not affect Save Files in any way. For all other platforms, refer to the installation guides for your device!

For windows only!

The error you are having is due to a corrupted save in your save folder conflicting with your current save.

Note: Ensure you know which save file is corrupted before continuing. You can see the save slot on the save selection screen.

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Delete the save file causing issues.
  4. If you don't know which it is, you can remove the save 1 by 1 from this folder until you find it

If you want to revert your save to a backup, use ?tag backups for more info.

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

  1. Open your game folder
  2. Double click SaveFile
  3. Double click the folder named backups
  4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
  5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
  6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata
