Onedrive causes many issues in and out of the game. If you see a status column in your game folder or your path has onedrive, that means your game folder is synching to OneDrive and will cause many issues.

To Fix:

1. Move your InfiniteFusion folder to your C:\Users\Your Name\Downloads folder
2. Open the .git folder (use screenshot below if you don't see it) and delete the file named shallow.lock
3. Rerun INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat afterwards to redownload any files OneDrive deleted.

My issue was that after updating, trying to open from Game.exe resulted in the window opening briefly then immediately closing.

Here is how I fixed it for people still having issues:

1. Save files are in another folder (%appdata% for Windows) so don't worry about them (if you're on PC - if you're on mobile you may need to back it up first).
2. Uninstall/delete the entire PIF folder.
3. Reinstall the game.
4. IN MY CASE - The Game.exe file never re-installed.
5. Open from the InfiniteFusion.exe file if that's the case for you as well.
6. Game opened fine with my save intact and seems to be working ok. Though, as others mentioned, some sprites are missing (as others already said this will be fixed soon hopefully!).

Hope this helps some of you who are still confused about trying to get it to work.

Anyway, thank you Frog and all the other creators for such a great rom! Sometimes 💩 happens, but I love this game and appreciate all you do!

The most likely reason your game is opening and closing is due to improperly updated game files. We mention in #downloads to not update ANY files versions 6.4.2 and below.

If you're using the Launcher:

1. Open the settings tab
2. Click "Reset Config"
3. Re-update
   NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher1.1.1/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion

If you're not using the Launcher:

Use the Lightweight installer guide to install in a NEW folder ➡️ Click Here⬅️

The most likely reason your game is opening and closing is due to improperly updated game files. We mention in #downloads to not update ANY files versions 6.4.2 and below.

If you're using the Launcher:

1. Open the settings tab
2. Click "Reset Config"
3. Re-update
   NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher1.1.1/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion

If you're not using the Launcher:

Use the Lightweight installer guide to install in a NEW folder ➡️ Click Here⬅️

For some reason my directory was named "Pokemon Infinite Fusion" instead of "InfiniteFusion"

When I ran update.bat, it said the folder needed to be named "InfiniteFusion" for it to work, so I renamed it

I updated the files, but the Steam file path was still directing to a folder named "Pokemon Infinite Fusion" which obviously no longer existed

Renamed the file path and it worked fine

Hi I’ve updated to latest version from previous, the game boots as soon as I load my save file it’s the game screen is black the game seem to be working in the back ground I’m able replay a battle fine it just seem to be the over world not loading thanks

Going to sound weird, but turn off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well.

so i updated to the latest version but noticed ALOT of custom sprites missing. i remember hearing people wanted to pull their art but did we really lose that many or did i mess something up?

no they'll just download over time, update screwed the customs up a little. if you have "download sprites" on in-game they'll turn up

whether or not you get unlucky and one of your favorites takes forever, mileage may vary

so just give it time? i was doing a Monster Hunter themed rando run and my entire team lost their spprites

if they're in the repo they'll get sucked into your game eventually
