Be aware, remapping controllers does not work outside of Xbox Controllers. You need to use a 3rd party app like Steam or JoyToKey to remap your controller to keyboard presses.

should say; when you load in, you will have the one you caught, and a new one will be in overworld as if never activated.

Hey @golden tinsel! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

If you did download from a fake site, go through these steps:

To successfully import your own custom sprite, please follow these steps:

Sprite Requirements:

1. Format: The sprite must be in .png format.
2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.

Importing Your Sprite:

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers.
3. Paste your sprite into this folder.

In-Game Instructions:

1. Launch the game.
2. The game will automatically detect the new sprites.
3. If you have an existing sprite that you're replacing, select the option "Replace All the old sprites with the new ones" when prompted.

Once completed, you can view your custom sprite in-game from the Pokedex's Sprite tab.

Your game folder has a shortcut to this folder named: Savefile
Each save file represents the save slot you saved into. Example: If you saved into Slot A, your save is named File A.rxdata

If you want to transfer it, copy the save file into the same location above on the new computer.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

If you are having issues with sprites after using our new zip, this means you did not set it up correctly. Reasons it didn't work:

1. You didn't use our 2.6 gb zip download from megaman's post in #downloads
2. You forgot to turn off download sprites from in game settings, save your game, and restart your game
3. You extracted it on top of an existing InfiniteFusion folder. These files are your new game folder. Don't mix them with your old files.
4. You are opening it from your old game files or shortcut. You need to open it within the new folder that was extracted with the 2.6 gb zip

If you did ALL above, share a screenshot of you doing step 6 of the guide to show us your game files.

how to fix it for the beta is being patient. the beta is testing out a new repo which downloads a set amount of sprites per minute then waits for a cool down so some will not have sprites right away. so if a mon has no sprite but you want it too use it in battle so the repo can download the sprite

Hey @nocturne raptor! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

is there a way to easily limit the amount of alternate sprites the game tries to load?
if in my PC i hover over my eevee for example, it stalls for a LONG time. however, if i hover over a fused togepi/ditto, it's instant. this behavior is 100% consistent of stalling or slowing down significantly only when hovering over, selecting, or using pokemon in battle with a significant number of alternate sprites (and works perfectly otherwise). ideally i'd like the game to maybe offer 2-3 alternate versions of the sprite at most and just not register anything over that number.

Same as PC, depends on your device. Black screen is the loading screen but this game is only optimized for Windows so Joiplay does it best to make it run for you

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

If you did download from a fake site, go through these steps:

1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and data that the normal game doesn't have.
   🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
3. Run a virus scan

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

Hey @brazen acorn! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

Looking at the button mapping screen now, and A is definitely the Enter key unless the button mapping layout that was recommended back when I started playing has changed somehow.

As for the properties, the only thing I changed was swapping the actual game from the Game.exe found in my original Infinite fusion folder, to the new Game.exe found in the new folder, alongside swapping the game folder from the new to the old.

Music is fine, but the screen is black with the exception of the version number, Key bindings: F1 in the top left corner, and two pokemon sliding extremely slowly in from the sides

You can also try mapping it to the C keyboard key instead to see if that works better. If both those buttons don't work, you might have changed the keybinding file a long time ago from in game

If that is the case, you need to open the keybinds by mapping a button to F1 then click restore default then ok

The game worked just fine earlier before I tried using the new Game.exe, outside the sprite issue.

Only thing that has changed is me swapping the game.exe and the "start in" folder.

Correct, this looks good. You have the right files and this has ALL of the sprites

You just need to be able to get in game to turn off Download Sprites, save, restart the game and it fixes your sprite issues

Tried to open in desktop mode since that what the Steam deck was in, but got the same thing happening in gaming mode

Some steam decks are weird. Unfortunately not all steam decks are the same. Some have OS bugs where extracting files doesn't actually extract everything

Restarted the deck and it is running much faster. Though still unplayable if this is the speed it will stay at during the actual game. Will see if I can manage to start a game and save though

And by much faster I mean I can now see the pokemon sprites move across the screen at one increment every 3-4 seconds

weird, not sure. I run the same on my OG LCD Steam Deck and my new OLED just fine, but they both have the latest version of proton as well

but specifically GE proton like what I use in the guide

I have not played on my Steam deck in a couple of months, so not surprised if there are some things which are horribly out of date and dragging the entire thing down

Starting to think the Steam deck is actively against me. Now it won't let me download Proton

this means you have another folder in your downloads folder with the same name...

This is what I was warning you about earlier that it can conflict with an existing folder of the same name. So kinda at a crossroad right now.

you can either:

1. Click replace all and hopefully everything work. Issue here is who knows what is in that existing folder and can conflict
2. Start over. Worst case cause you got so far. This is why in step 1 we mention to delete any existing folders
