since the beta comes with all the autogens, i figured that way i could make things a bit easier on the repo so instead of trying to grab the 150Kish customs that exists before it could just net the new stuff being uploaded

Oh I don’t remember who helped me w/ it but I did get the saves figured out w/ the beta on deck (For anyone asking later). If you don’t replace the path that the old “steam” game is directing to, it won’t transfer the save because steam sees it as two different games. It has to do with how steam views non-steam games and where those files go. So either you gotta replace the current steam game with the beta or just find the save and put it into the new steam game folder.

Not sure if that made sense

Basically when you add a game as a non-steam game, it’ll make a new folder regardless if that game technically exists in the library

I never did figure out the keybinds tho so I just had to manually change the steam keybinds instead of F1 binds

game_preloaded requires more time to load up because it is literally loading as much of the game as it possibly can

delete your old infinite fusion folder, make a new one in your download thing, and then just grab the new files and extract them into that folder once they are downloaded [after checking against the guide to ensure the files match up correctly, or are within a margin for error]

after that just play from those files and make sure to turn off download sprites in the options [load up a save, change it, save the game, close the game, relaunch]

general logic would be, delete the folder the game is in or delete all the files for the game, if there is a trash can delete it from that as well, restart the device, then follow the guide for your device to reinstall

If you remove the game from steam itself, it deletes the user data (your save file) but keeps your game files. You would also need to delete the InfiniteFusion folder as well if you wanted to start from a clean slate.

Once you redownload the game and extract it, when you add it back to Steam as a non Steam game, it will create a new directory for your saves as well (different folder than the last)

When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF

Having issues when starting the game, I get a black screen for a couple seconds before the application closes. I've tried restarting my PC as the game has worked before but I'm having no luck.

Hey @turbid nebula! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

So you can use that to determine which folder you used, but best to delete the other folders as well. Clean up your folders a bit

Hey @dusk pumice! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

If you are having issues with sprites after using our new zip, this means you did not set it up correctly. Reasons it didn't work:

1. You didn't use our 2.57gb zip download from megaman's post in #downloads
2. You forgot to turn off download sprites and restart your game
3. You extracted it on top of an existing InfiniteFusion folder so it is conflicting
4. You are opening it from your old game files or shortcut. You need to open it within the new folder that was extracted with the 2.57gb zip

If you did ALL above, share a screenshot of you doing step 5 of the guide to show us your game files.

Did the update change anything with the engine? If it didn't I'm going to make the assumption it's something to do with moving my save across

all I can suggest is to delete everything (move your save somewhere else first if you want), and start from step 1 in the guide to do a full clean reinstall.

there is no world where a 1.20gb zip at +- 50-80% compression rates becomes 24gb

Yes. When a fusion is made/caught, it will let you choose

every combination will have 2 "forms" - like pikachu/rattatta or rattatta/pikachu
sometimes a form will have different "alts" (if 2 artists made art for the same fusion) you can then change these "alts" in the pokedex

Sure - that sounds like a decent reason to skip classic (classic does deviate a quite a bit from Red at points, but I get your reason )
in that case, if you make a second "new game" it will give you the option for remix.

Hey @mortal flax! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

I think I have a fix or at least a potential workaround for android users that worked to get sprites showing in battle when they only show in other circumstances. I reinstalled the game normally after deleting old files, then I made sure to set version to 6.2.3 not the latest version . Then in Main Menu make sure to TURN DOWNLOAD SPRITES OFF RIGHT AWAY AND GO ALL THE WAY TO BOTTOM OF SETTINGS, hit confirm. Then start a new game and save, quit to the menu then quit game from the menu. Restart the game after quitting FROM MENU. For me bulbasaur was invisible in battle now is shown in custom sprite for Bulbasaur and I'm assuming others as well. Still does not show them at main menu .

try doing the guide from scratch again, if you have a save move it following the guide, if it happens again, then best guess would be either the download got corrupted or the extraction corrupted

Hey @winter pendant! You can press F1 (FN + F1 on laptops) to change your keybindings!

Be aware, remapping controllers does not work outside of Xbox Controllers. You need to use a 3rd party app like Steam or JoyToKey to remap your controller to keyboard presses.

It was Route 1.

Nothing bad happened from it, I just am not sure if that was intentional or a bug.

hello! my computer is strong and ive been at a black screen with music for 30 mins on startup from a fresh install. Is that normal?

Hey @idle badger! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.
