Hiii so I used cheat engine v7.5 to get more money in game. I decided to give myself a bunch of great balls too (which worked). Then I thought nah I want to play it right and make myself buy the great balls, so I changed that amount back to normal. I closed out of cheat engine. Now every time I open my bag and go to the poke ball section, great balls are not there and I get this error which crashes my game. Hey @heady turtle! If your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. The duration of the black screen depends on YOUR computer. Especially if you just imported sprites. The game needs time to process the hundred of thousands of sprites you imported.

Hi! Would it be okay to ask with help on how to swap a sprite? I want to take the sprite from a pre-evolved mon (Cleffa/Meowth) and make it the evolved form's (Clefable/Persian)'s sprite as well because I'm absolutely in love with the baby version, but also want it to have some decent power.

I looked it up but what I read confused me a little bit. Is it true that I just swap the names of the two sprites in the grapics folder? Or do I need to do something else

To successfully import your own custom sprite, please follow these steps:

Sprite Requirements:

1. Format: The sprite must be in .png format.
2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.

Importing Your Sprite:

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers.
3. Paste your sprite into this folder.

In-Game Instructions:

1. Launch the game.
2. The game will automatically detect the new sprites.
3. If you have an existing sprite that you're replacing, select the option "Replace All the old sprites with the new ones" when prompted.

When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps:

2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

with the repo down, if you are on the 6.2.3 version, you can stay on that

you'd want to get the preloaded sprite file tho

Preloaded is only for computers that perform poorly or if you want to play 100% offline. Otherwise, open Game.exe and the game will open without crashing.

Preloaded doesn't work out of the box. The ONLY way to set it up is using the following Guide HERE

in some cases the antivirus scans every single file on extraction which increases the needed time ... you can search through the settings in yur antivirus to not scans files on extraction, or you can also disable the antivirus during extraction

I followed the android guide to update the game, had to delete the previous version, am aware the sprite repo is down, is there meant to be a 1-2min hangup at the start menu? Or should I try to do the install again?

I should note i also disabled the download sprite feature in options, but that seemed to also create more pauses when loading maps and stuff. Not sure if this is a known side effect

shouldnt ... also, the game isnt made for mobiles and we had some reports that mobiles worked with version 6.2.2 struggled more with 6.2.3 ... i assume the same thing happens with 6.2.4 ... best bet is restarting your phone and clear app cache ... if that doesnt do it, you can try a reinstall

To successfully import your own custom sprite, please follow these steps:

Sprite Requirements:

1. Format: The sprite must be in .png format.
2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.

Importing Your Sprite:

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers.
3. Paste your sprite into this folder.

In-Game Instructions:

After some experimenting on mobile with a lot of settings, I couldn't really find a way to reduce the 1-2min load time on the Gengar vs Nidorino screen, but I was able to remove the 1-2min load time on the menu screen (the one that displays various fusions) by turning the Download Sprites back On instead of Off (even though I know due to the repo status this won't function normally). Even with a game reinstall thats about the best I could do on mobile. (Samsung Flip 6)

Tldr I cut the load time in half to actually get into the game by turning on a feature that isn't currently functioning.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

hi guys, i think i found a problem and wanted to ask if there was a bug post related in the channel. Basically, the guy that tells you to exchange one of your pokemons for a Mewtwo and then escapes when it gives you a fraud, can be fought in goldenrod city in an alley, when i talk to him and the fight starts the game crashes

Yeah so, It still doesn't work. I use Q4Wine to run the bat and it kept giving me an error, I even re-downloaded the full rom pack and did it again to just test it and it still didnt work. Oh btw, I didn't realise that the saves are not generated, they are just static files and when I overwrote the files, it overwrote my save and set me back to Pallet town 😐

Any ideas? The error I am getting when running the bat file is this:

So what do I do when I need to update?

saves (even on steam deck) are not stored with the game files.
HOWEVER - on steam deck they are not automatically detected if you either change the location of the link to steam, unlink and then relink, and some other cases.
this is because steam stores all emulated windows files in a numbered compatibility layer. Making a new link with steam will create a new compatibility layer associated with it.

yep, infact when I check it is correct with the bat file, it didn't load anything at all and when I left it as what it auto generates as in the second field it ran that

Yeah in short, I try to use the bat file and I have followed all the instructions, however when I try to run the bat file via Q4Wine, it just launches Q4Wine with no run window, when I manually open the run window and put in the files, it initially populates with the filepath for the INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat as something like /run/user/1000/doc/e6ffd605/INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

same with the working directory

Easiest would probably be to get the files and just use those (they are up to date)

All pokemon fusion images are bugged for me. I loaded into an old save after downloading the newest version of the game. The directory for getting the images must be working because I still get the resprites of base pokemon along with the first fusion shown but the rest just appear as ? . I've tried help man and that didn't change anything.

Lightweight Installer Update:

1. Open your game folder
2. Double click 'INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat'

App Installer Update:

1. Open the App
2. Click Installation Menu -> Update Game -> Click Update

Both options will update the game files for you. If it didn't, rerun the update and wait for it to finish. Take and share a screenshot of the window to #tech-support
