So I downloaded the files from the YT tutorial on how to install it on Steam Deck roughly...May 25, 2024.

You said the files were 100% up to date at that point in time for having all the offline sprites, and after an update semi-recently there's a lot of missing sprites; which I'm assuming it's because I haven't installed any new sprites.

Keeping the date I downloaded in mind assuming you update that download's files, what are the months stuff I have to install to get rid of all these blank sprites?

you shouldn't have blank sprites (for the most part). You'd at least have an auto gen but no custom sprite.

seems like you have some bad data in your save file folder ....

open the shortcut SaveFile in your game folder and delete whatever you find inside that

dont delete the folder, as its just a shortcut

So you know how IF prioritizes custom sprites over the dumb AI-esk ones? Recently after the update some of the times a brand new fusion will be blank, because it prioritizes custom fusions and the custom ones are blank. For example the picture I'm about to send you about Miltank's Katamari fusion: that fusion was blank outside of the author's credits. For some reason, that one is fine now, but there's still a lot missing (I'll get a better picture next time I encounter it).

Similarly, and more invasive to the game experience is that the fusion icon sprites are randomly invisible since the update, forcing me to have to use the DNA sprite on everything.

happens only in preloaded. Restarting the game usually fixes it, but will keep happening for new fusions

yeah either way, there isn't a perm solution to the bug. It is a known issue and needs a fix. In general restarting the game fixes the sprite to not be blank, but if it doesnt, we dont have any other workaround at the moment

the game caches when you open preloaded and uses that cache to play the game. So when you restart the game, it recaches

that is when the icons come back

so prob won't be fixed anytime soon due to needing to mess with that code

anyone else having the issue where the landscape will be black aside from NPCs and some nature. Happened to me at Brocks gym and went away after beating one of the gym trainers, then again after leaving the pokecenter outside of Mt. Moon, and didnt fix itself going in and out of the pokecenter, but walking inside Mt. Moon was completley normal

not sure on the issue, it doesnt prevent me from playing the game, just cant see the enviorment other then some rocks, shrubs and the NPCs

If the issue still persists after, your computer is the issue. It cannot load the tile sets. Look to update your graphics driver or not play in full screen

Sorry if this is a common issue, but I’d been playing this game with basically no issues until I reached the underground sewer section (where you team up with that gym leader to deal with team rocket). Now, suddenly every fight takes much longer to load and usually every enemy sprite either shows up as a missingno “?” or is just gone completely

Is there any known cause for this? I’m kinda worried it’s something to do with my computer since I’ve been having trouble loading discord too, but my phone has also been having issues loading discord so I’m not sure if that’s it

If you are having sudden performance issues out of nowhere, restart your computer (no joke). Don’t shut down the computer as it just puts it to sleep. Use the restart option to free up processes on your computer.

yeah ty, I started doing it in steam, seems like a decent solution. What's the difference between running game.exe, game-default.exe and game-preloaded.exe? Steam would give me errors running the first two but it seems fine to run game-preloaded

you will likely need to move the folder somewhere else since usually windows like to onedrive sync desktop folders, and you also need to run the game first as a just in case before you go adding in the preloaded sprite file

The issue is your computer is not able to render the game. Something is off with your graphics driver, but we can try something just to double check it isn't the game files.

1. In the app, go to settings, and click Open Game Folder. Delete the Data Folder. (This doesn't delete your saves)

You have to fix the ones messed up manually within the Pokédex.

Reshuffling fixes the issue going forward, but not the sprites already affected

If you are on version 5.3.1.2 and higher, you can go to your game folder (where Game.exe is) and double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE to update to the latest version.
