Most likely because I'm running preloaded instead of having download sprites on this time

Basically I can't see the sprites icons (party/box), in-battle sprites work perfectly though

it is likely something to do with a combination of your device + preloaded. making it difficult for us to pin down the cause.

yeah that is related to your hardware.

be patient. loading the game (especially the first time) takes a long time. and is related to how good your hardware is. Do not touch the window while loading, that will generate the error and stop loading.
the freeze on start fusing screen is related to the game downloading the sprites at that point, bad internet + suboptimal hardware will drastically increase this freeze. try to get past by pressing C or enter a couple of times.

I should likely report this, ive been getting an similar error to this increasingly often, its always listing an issue with a custom base sprite that when I check myself is always present in the folder.
sometimes this error causes the game to reboot, sometimes I can just continue without issues, sometimes the entire game froze.

having it once in a while never bothered me but seeing it is happening more often, like twice in a row just now... made it clear its not a bug that will just go away from any random update and likely needs to be stated here

With preloaded, unfortunately because it doesn’t download any new sprites, if new sprites come out, you need to reinstall custom sprites again to get the full list of customBaseSprites you are missing.

That is why it is sometimes giving you the error and not all the time

The game will also download the missing customBaseSprites after you get the errror. That is why you see it in your folder after you get the error

Sprite packs are just a zip collected over a month, but the sprites are still checked in and pushed daily

So the game is affected any time the sprite managers add sprites to the repo

Daily, but up to the sprite manager what is added/removed. Not everything in the gallery is auto added to the repo. The gallery is just a discord thing. There are stuff after that they need to do to add it to the repo

If you are having sudden performance issues out of nowhere, restart your computer (no joke). Don’t shut down the computer as it just puts it to sleep. Use the restart option to free up processes on your computer.

i played yesterday evening and put the deck to sleep so not shutting down the game. everything was working fine then. now i started the deck reconnect my controller and it does nothing. i tried switching the controller around in the steam input settings, without connecting a controller i restarted the game after chamging stuff around and i updated the game still nothing.

the game can pull sprites from the repo assuming you have an internet connection on the device you play on, and have the download sprites option turned on

the only reason to download sprites is if your device has lag running the game, in which case you need the preloaded pack for game-preloaded

honestly i'd get a fresh install, since you may have a version of the game that can't update anymore; if you are on windows the app installer is much simpler to use

Some sprites aren't loading. Earlier today at school, me and my friend encountered a Ratgey (Fussion of rattata and pidgey) but it just had a giant Question Mark instead of it's sprite. The same happened with Squirtisaur. (Fusion of Squirtle and Bulbasaur) When me and my rival fought.

Like the static egg encounters you get, pass in a species. The randomizer already can randomize species. So just passing that in would randomize it. But as of right now, all the events for the eggs are hardcoded with a number. So it doesn't get touched by the randomizer. (I was looking at this when Ernesto was wanting to see what each egg can hatch into)

Any new game update, you need to rerandomize the settings you have enabled.

If you have only pokemon randomized, you need to Reshuffle Wild Pokemon

This is done in the Pokemon Center -> Update Man (guy in black suit) -> Click Advanced Settings -> You will see the Reshuffle options

This will fix the issue going forward, but sprites already messed up you might have to fix yourself from the Pokedex.

I figured out installing custom pokemon, but I can't find anything in the way of installing trainer sprites. Can anyone point me to that?

Do you need help customizing your in-game character? To change your trainer sprites, you need to swap out or edit several files.

for the boy sprites:
for the overworld: in the Graphics/Character/Player folder; boy_bike.png, boy_dive_offset.png, boy_fish_offset.png. boy_run.png, boy_surf_offset.png, and trchar000.png
for the trainer card: in the Graphics/Trainers folder; POKEMONTRAINER_Red.png
for the pokeball throw animation: in the Graphics/Trainers folder; POKEMONTRAINER_Red_back.png
for the battle transition: in the Graphics/Transitions folder; vsTrainer0.png
for the intro scene: in the Graphics/Pictures folder; introBoy.png

for the girl sprites:

In what file are the "preferred sprite" settings stored? I want to merge my game save, along with the downloaded sprites and preferred sprite choices, to a different computer where the game is already installed

afaik you cant save perefered sprites when transfering files so youd have to set everything again

I have the preloaded version of the game. Do the auto generated sprites have a big impact on performance? like can I just delete them? I am ok with seeing the question mark thing for fusions without custom sprites.

Deleting them won't have an effect on your start up time. It does affect your in game performance for sprites with no custom sprites.

Hey @twin mortar! You cannot install this game on iPhone or iPad. This game is not a ROM Hack so Delta won't work and we are not planning to release an iOS version.

old/incompatible save file in your save file folder .. open the shortcut (SaveFile) in your game folder and delete that old file

Hello, i have a Problem with the port on Cinober island. I went through mount ember bevor i fought Blaine and did not trigger the scene where the Rockets steal the ship. After defeating Blaine i accidentally triggered the Rockets then and now the Captain in Port wants me to chaise after them but Mount Ember is already cleart and both Blue and the Captain already talked to me on Mt. Ember. So that i now cant do the Quest for Deoxys. Is there a way to solve this without having to restart completely?

the only reason you might need to delete a save is if it is corrupt or causing an error with the game

If you are having sudden performance issues out of nowhere, restart your computer (no joke). Don’t shut down the computer as it just puts it to sleep. Use the restart option to free up processes on your computer.
