You tried to enable debug mode illegitimately in the scripts, that doesn’t work anymore. Delete the Data folder in the game folder and rerun the INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat file in the game folder

Hey @tidal topaz! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

So I had issues last night with getting the sprites to download. Megaman told me to install them manually with the zip file. If I understand correctly I just install the zip file and do the extract and all that then move them from the zip onto the actual installer the new one?

As long as you have the correct zip, yes.
Move the sprites to the corrects folder in "graphics".
If you did it correctly the game will notify you on next launch that it detected sprites.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

As mentioned the game wasn't made for phobile. But I got a curious error. After beating my rival in PL, entering the HoF my screen turns "black" and the sound of is running in a loop. Nothing happens the next few minutes. Have to force shut joiplay then and my progress is gone.. again. 🙈
Tried it few times by now and it happens always the same.

But today I started a new randomized save to play with a friend with less extreme settings, and it seems my main save file has been changed to the settings of the second save file. from personal experience (after messing around with it yesterday), the new proton-GE 9.2 did wonders for me performance wise.
Try getting it with protonUp-Qt and then manually setting game.exe in steam to use this version of proton

you need to do a couple things.
1: In your game folder, you need to enable the setting to view hidden files How to do that
2: Delete the .git folder you will see in your folder now
