Eh, if I fix it, the user doesn't have to hunt for the PIF folder, and probably less strain on the servers hosting the sprites on the whole. The user usually never goes through that many pokemon in their party anyway.

Hey @arctic leaf! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

So would the best way to go about ChatMon being able to do alternate variations be to download https://raw.githubusercontent.com/infinitefusion/infinitefusion-e18/main/Data/CUSTOM_SPRITES , then do a pass over it and record which of them has a, b, etc variants, and have a dropdown for them?

Because when I read the PIF code, in at least one of the places it has a 'just do a request for a-z", and that seems like it would hammer the git server pretty hard.

Yeah I still feel like you are reinventing the wheel. Especially as I mentioned, the game already downloads the sprites as you encounter pokemon

and we have a tool to install the sprites up front.

But this isn't a coding channel where you can get support/help with coding your app so we can't help you much with it

But you discourage downloading the sprites up front (due to the 3gb's of files), and using PIF's download mechanics means from chatmon listening to filesystem events for the application directory PIF is running in, and then only showing those pokemon in my dropdowns that have been seen, so that the end user doesn't pick a pokémon that has a broken image.

On PC, there is a file in the game folder named SaveFile. If you double click that, it takes you where your save files are stored.
On Steam Deck, my video goes through where to find where your save file is stored. You would move your PC save files to that location

Freezing has to do with the performance of your game and computer. Preloaded is your best bet to see if it can get past your current issue

Yeah but its weird cuz I havent had any issues with freezing up until the Raicune encounter. I killed it on accident so returned to title without saving and thats when it happened

Hey @sturdy ridge! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.

If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

1. Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
3. Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
4. Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
5. Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

also you can't just get the missing sprites because get moved from the folder to another folder with the game

To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

I suggest you go to your Game Folder and delete the Data folder. Then run INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat. It will reinstall the files and try the steps again at the Pokemon Center

3. It will have a folder and a batch file. Select them and copy it.
4. Open the launcher. From the top right click settings.

Downloaded from here; and I assumed when it was on the "Pokemon Infinite Fusion" screen with the two pokemon coming together in the middle it was done loading. Even on that screen, the pokemon come to the center and stay white for a long time, then later it changes to 2 different pokemon before those ones stay white before fusing as well. Rinse and repeat.

It does not install it in git. That hidden folder is where it downloads a bit to at first. The game itself will be in the normal folder if everything works.
