A couple days ago I had a conversation about some oversights with the game calling for fusion sprites it can’t actually find bc they’re not sorted in the index folder (maybe an alt launcher problem?). I was lucky enough to even get input from @sharp pawn. I’m curious to know if anyone has explored the possibility of writing a script to unload sprite packs into organized folders

Hungry Pickle has made a script that gets the latest sprites, generated + custom, from GitHub. Idk exactly where it's posted here

Hey @steel holly! Are you having trouble downloading the game? You can find the download of the game in #downloads! To run it, simple unzip all of the files into a folder, then click the .bat file. Be mindful that the game takes a few minutes to load, don't touch the black window before it does!

I should clarify that I’ve unzipped the Sprites.zip file into my graphics folder. It essentially just adds the 1-420 indexed folders to the custombattlers folder. Once these folders are present, not all sprites are present, just the ones I assume the game indexed when hungry_pickle happened to encounter them. In order to add the sprite packs to these folders, each sprite needs to go to its corresponding indexed folder otherwise it will appear blank in game. I have verified this is the case with small numbers of sprites becoming visible in the Pokédex

If u tried to install the sprite pack, that's not really possible in this version of the game. The instructions I mentioned earlier are the simplest way to successfully manually install most of the sprites

But otherwise u don't have control over the game's download of sprites, it's automatic when u have the option turned on

If one of ur sprites is corrupted u probs don't have a way to have the game download it again before it crashes without just deleting the sprite

And u would have to do that for each corrupted sprite

A shinylocke as in a nuzlocke that only uses shiny pokemon? Like any nuzlocke that is entirely up to you restricting your own gameplay, it's not part of the game itself.

That would mean YOU grinding out the shiny odds to get one with luck on each route

The only way to increase odds legitimately is with the Shiny Charm, which you get after beating Mt. Silver

Basically there is no preloaded version right now, the download that's marked preloaded is just the same installer. The sprite pack is meant to update a preloaded version of the game, but since there are no preloaded versions, trying to install the sprite pack doesn't work
The sprites.zip in the pins of this channel is a different sprite pack that essentially gives ur game the correct file organization so that u can then download the sprite pack. It just also happens to include all the sprites made up until July for convenience

The simplest instructions I can give u are that once u download sprites.zip, u want to extract it to its own folder. Then, inside the new sprites folder there will be a folder called Graphics
U want to either move or copy that Graphics folder into ur main game folder, which if ur on Windows will cause a merge of that Graphics folder and the Graphics folder that's already there. After that merge is complete, u should be able to use the alternate launcher without any issues

That's why it takes a long time and why it needs all the sprites to be there first

success for me, was a bit slow loading the save from pc back to mobile, but eventually it loaded, and i saved again, and now things are good agian, and i can continue! amazing game so far! its very nostalgic but keeps things nice and fresh!

Hey @lone root! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Hello I'm having a sprite issue. at first when I fused it would turn into a white ball with a question mark. I read that disabling the download sprites option then turning it back on would help and it did but now my fused pichu and poliwag evolved and I'm having the issue again and the download sprites option isn't working.

^I restarted my computer and relaunched the game and tried disabling and enabling the download sprites setting again and it fixed the issue.

This was a common problem when people downloaded and extracted patch .zips expecting the full game, but there is no longer a patch .zip for current versions of the game, so my impression is that uve downloaded the patch .zip for an older version
