U don't want the old version's Data folder, the main point of an update is to replace those files with the updated ones

And ur File .rxdata shouldn't be in ur game files unless ur working from a really old version

And if that's the case it's better to just run with a new install rather than update

There are a few problems I can see from this screenshot

The first is that these sprites are not in their respective indexed folders, which is where they need to be in order for the game to recognize them

This is what I was alluding to earlier

On paper, ur supposed to drop the sprites into the CustomBattlers folder and then when u run the game it will index them for u automatically

However, newer installs of the game don't come with a pre-constructed indexed folder. Instead, it generates specific indices whenever it needs them

Without those indexed folders, the game can't import sprites manually

The Sprites .zip's Graphics folder contains every sprite up until June, so u may want to download and import the July-only sprite pack

Yeah, instead I moved the updated files to the old folder and deleted the old versions. Seems to work fine for such a small update. Custom sprites work even on the dynamic version.

Just checked by running around cinnabar and viridian forest where the randomizer had plenty of Pokemon with custom sprites and they seemed to be working fine. Same with the ones in my party.

Hey @daring pasture! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

If you are running 5.3.0.7 or later, simply run the INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat
Otherwise, you'll have to start fresh from the 18MB or so in #downloads , then follow the guide in the messages in #tech-support

Hey @sturdy shadow! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

I was wondering if somebody could help me with a question I'm having. It's about the new version.
I am playing on my phone and everything was working fine. The version I am using is 5.3.1
Now, since the new version is out, the game isn't downloading the sprites anymore and all the mons I encounter are just question marks.
If I understood that correctly, it's because with the new version, the sprites have been moved to another server.
My question is, if I have to download the entire game again, or if its just a small update?
I use mobile data and don't want to use so much of it.
Also, when I first downloaded the game on my phone and used the direct download from the official website, it didn't work. Only after I downloaded it from the Mega app could I make work. Is the new version available via Mega App?

The option for me is to use the alt launcher..the problem is it keeps showing the error even thou i already pasted the "sprite" and "full sprite july" in the graphics folder...now what am i gonna do??

Make sure you follow the instruction carefully. I haven't tried running the alternate launcher myself, and I didn't install the sprite pack. So all I can say is that if you keep having this error, it mean the game does not find the sprite, and they are either misplaced in your game folder or not installed.

Depending on the other hardware you have, some mouse/keyboard interefe and take the slot 0 for controllers.

Try closing the PC, remove all external device, restart, plug only the controller, after a few minutes, replug the rest of the devices

Hey @crimson linden! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

Sprites packs are very screwy with the current version. Luckily you don't need them at all, you will be able to use all of the sprites as long as you maintain an internet connection.

The alternate launcher reduces in-game load times by loading assets on launch

That's why ur boot time takes so long

Unfortunately appears to mean that it can't generate assets dynamically, which is what it has to do in order to combine Pokemon icons for fusions

I'm looking around in the graphics folder and I've noticed that in Graphics > Pokemon > FusionIcons, ull find the complete sprite for the head of every fusion u encounter

That corresponds to my specific fusion's dex number, which is Volcarona/Nidoqueen

People have managed to make it work with Win Emulator for other OS and Joiplay for Android

But you often run into unique compatibility issue then

every loading screen takes over a minute and when i open my party, i can't do anything until the Pokemon start moving
it might not seem like a big issue but it feels like a slog to even play.
