In the … menu choose "optimize backgrounds". Or long-press the game icon you created in JoiPlay and select "optimize maps". This process takes a few minutes.
If that doesn’t work, you can try a complete wipe of the install and then reboot the device.
If that also doesn’t work, make sure you are using the latest version of Joiplay and RPG maker plugin from their Patreon. You can report this bug, get support, and maybe get them to fix it on their Discord:

One user says, "I got it to work, I uninstalled everything, joiplay and rpgmaker, reinstalled the latest files on their own, deleted all of the decompressed files from the game and the patch, unpacked the latest game zip file, then the latest patch over it, optimized the maps in joiplay and it works like a charm now"

Hey @wooden crag! Are you having trouble starting the game? Here are a few common errors you might be experiencing:

If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

1. Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
3. Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
4. Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
5. Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

I'm just parroting what others have reported worked. Don't use JoiPlay myself. It's actually not officially supported. Game is made for Windows and doesn't have that issue there.

Hey there, new to the channel. Fyi, I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.3. I downloaded the zip file at the provided link for mac and linux and it appears there are a few issues:```

• The shell script appears to reference windows executable files for all programs
• Upon unzipping the folders, the game also appears to be a windows executable
  I made some modifications to the shell script, and I can run it, however I'm beginning to think that the linux version is still in development. Is this correct? Additionally, I did try do a search in the discord server for "Linux", however this yielded a lot of french info. Appreciate any help in advance! Cheers!

Did it instruct you to move files? It doesn't sound like that is causing the problem, but it might be expecting certain thing to be in specific locations. Do you remember exactly how to put them back?

I would definitely suggest putting them back in their original place and checking if it runs as expected first if you haven't done that.

Hm, you may want to get confirmation on this, but it looks like it may be saving your game state to a file called Savefile.ink. If this is true, you may be able to keep your saved progress by reinstalling the game and placing that file back in the folder where you did the installation. With that being said, I would get confirmation from one of the mods before trying it.

If you're not concerned abotu your progress, I would wipe everything and reinstall the game.

cause i did this that was written in the read me file If you already have a pre-5.0 savefile, it needs to be moved to the appdata folder.
You can do this automatically by running "migrate_savefile.bat" which is included in this download (you might need to run it as administrator)
If this doesn't work, you can copy the savefile manually.

Yeah so it looks like you can move the save file , delete the remaining contents, reinstall the game, then put the savefile back to it's original location. I would definitely execute the migrate_savefile.bat file they provided, as this sounds like a safer approach. Have you tried this?

I know most folks don't use Joiplay, but for those who do, do any of you know I to fix the buttons on the right side not functioning?
On the left, Start works in the opening menu to progress (but nothing else does), then the arrow keys work fine on the next menus (except left and right are reversed) and nothing functions as an "A" button typically would on a controller, to actually select anything. What do I need to do? I'm very new to using Joiplay.

Other than the controls issue, the game loaded fine and the main screen runs smoothly, so I think everything is installed correctly - I could totally be wrong though.

I started a new game, since the first got deleted withiut reason, and I reinstalled the game entirelly since.
The savefiles folder I have in the game's main folder still give me an error message. The savefiles folder don't exist anywhere else in my files.

My first save got deleted without reason, when I opened the game for the first time today (a few hours ago), it asked me the usual to add the new sprites, but then when I validated my save weren't anymore in the game. So I searched, there were a folder for the game in the program folder etc, but whatever I tried with the game did nothing. So I deleted the game, reinstalled like 10 times until I managed to do well. Nevermind for the save I lost but now the new one isn't accessible in my files.

And just search my messages from this last 12 hours to see how I struggled

You're missing the species.dat file, which belongs in the data folder. It appears the ruby scripts are trying to load it and it can't find the file. You may have deleted it, if so, locate it and put it back, otherwise, someone can likely share their file with you, and you need to simply place it back in the data folder

First I would ask you to backup the. rename or move your save folder.

If the game then works, maybe there is something wrong with your save. If the game still doesn't work, then your save is probably good and there's and issue with the game install.

Hey @thorn dove! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

Ok so your save file is not lost

You know how youbacked up or renamed the folder that has your save? It is now there.

So you can just name the folder back to get your save back.

When you ran the game it created a new 'infinitefusion' save folder in roaming. The purpose of doing this test was to see if renaming (temporary removing) your save makes the game playable

So the fact that renaming your save folder makes the game run perfectly means maybe your old save folder is the issue.

Thanks for the screenshot. The small blue arrows on the upper-right of the file icon tells me that OneDrive is syncing files. It could lock them and crash your game randomly. This is because you installed the game under Downloads.

Hey friends! I'm on Mac and I'm currently trying to update to v. 5.3.1. Current version is the preloaded 5.1.3 (directly from the Wiki). I followed the installation guide from the Wiki, so my game was run through Wineskin Winery. I made a backup of the game just in case.
I am at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong. I followed this video, but the Wine64 files won't open. They show up as they did, but nothing actually opens. And the moment I click off, it closes. No windows open or anything and I'm not sure why? The only version I can get to open is the Wineskin version. I have tried installing the .bat file (which I ran through Homebrew), the .sh file (which just opens a text file), and even the new game file. Nothing is working. The Wiki mentions a patch, but I'm not seeing any patch anywhere.
Alternatively, is there a way to download the newest version through Wineskin and not Homebrew? Then I can transfer/merge my dave data? I've had better luck with that.
I genuinely don't know what to do and I feel like I need step by step instructions. I could really use some help - Thanks in advance.

To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

Hi guys, i have some trouble in order to play the game. When clicking on game.exe it says: Error initializing PhysFS: no error.
When clicking on AlternateLauncher.exe it actually runs the game, but after the first animation it says Script ´001_RPG_Cache.rb´line 150: Errno::ENOENT ocurred
I would really apreciate if anybody knew the solution to this issue 🙂
