looks like one of your save files are broken. Try moving the save file out of the save file location and see if the game starts up.

open the mega link, there are like 3 things you can download, get the full game, then the patch, extract the full game in a folder, then extract the patch on top of it, and THEN add your sprites

patch is used to patch an existing installation/download of the full game. You'll want to get either the dynamic or preloaded zip files. The difference is dynamic will download missing sprites as you play while preloaded will have everything at the start.

Hey @slate imp! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

1. Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
3. Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
4. Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
5. Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

You're meant to unzip the patch like you would the normal game and cut/paste it's contents to overwrite the stuff in your original game folder

My theory is just that when u tell it to replace duplicate files, it replaces ur filled encounters_randomized.dat with the blank that comes included in the data folder, so it's possible newer patch folders have stopped including a blank encounters_randomized.dat

3. I genuinely do not know what led up to these events. I was just playing and the next battle I was in there were no longer levels displayed. This is not ideal especially when I'm Nuzlocking ^ ^"

Also including this on the off chance it's related, I've had icons of unfused pokemon still show up as fused. It doesn't bother me or anything but I figure I might as well bring it up. This was an issue that'd usually resolve itself upon closing and opening the game again but as of late it seems to be permenant? No idea if that's related.

4. Could not find a solution for this in the pins. Using the search function I've found two other people with this issue, but both seem to be unresolved.

Any advice?

As the instructions say:

To add the sprites to your game, drag the pack's Custombattlers folder into your game's graphics folder and it will merge with the existing Custombattlers folder. then, run the game, and it will index all the files. if it asks you if you want to replace the existing sprites with the new ones, select yes!
For the monthly pack, you can also just ctrl+A to select all the individual image files and paste those in your game's Custombattlers folder

When I play the latest version of the game there is no audio. Sound settings are at max and my PC has max volume but there is no sound. My PC is not the problem as when I do sound tests the audio works. It doesn't work in the game however. Edit: solved the problem. Output in traceback.log ), and if you have downloaded the modern patch, you have to extract an other copy of the game (without modern patch) because modern mode is already in the original game, so you can continue your save with this copy

So there seem to be certain pokemon fusions that completely bug my game and have me wait 5+ minutes everytime I try to interact with them, e.g. selecting them in the box, sending them out to fight. For those dealing with the controller issue, while I don't have a fix I do have a remedy, at least for DS4 users.
I personally use DS4Windows to turn my ps4 controller inputs into keys. However, this program can also map Xbox controller buttons which even though the F1 controls menu won't let you change, it does still have inputs for already. DS4 allows you to map Xbox buttons onto your ps4 controller. If you change which Xbox buttons are mapped to which ps4 buttons, you can reconfigure most of the controls. If anyone is interested this is what I have found (each button mentioned before the dash refers to the Xbox button)

1. B - this opens the menu (pause button) and is the cancel action button (annoying that it is both)
2. A - this is the select button (it acts like the x button would on ps4, chat with people, interact with the world)
3. LB (the L1 on ps4 controller) - speed up button
4. Pressing down left analog stick (L3 on ps4 controller) - shoots you to the top of a menu selection
5. Y - shoots you to the bottom of the menu selection
   That is all I have so far. Hope that helps in remapping some people's controllers

having the same issue with gloom/paras (44.46). It's not a custom sprite, and neither is 53.11. Everything else I pass through just fine are custom sprites.

Hey @remote meadow! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

Hello, newbie here. I was able to start the game after tinkering with it for a bit but eventually it's playable with minor crash from time to time.

My issue however is regarding the custom sprites. I downloaded the sprite pack from here, unzipped it and moved all the sprite PNGs into custombattler file. Unfortunately, they do not appear in the game. Any suggestions to make it work?

Hey @plucky tusk! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!
