where do i find saves and how do i know which is the corrupted one?
im having a problem i tried to fuse a pokemon into their new sprite that i change but for some odd reason the game is not picking it up 😕 is not putting the proper fusion design
So I put the custom battlers into the graphics folder to get my custom sprite of bagon and axew. alas, it didn't work. I think it was even before the sprite pack. so this has to be a game issue, but i've got no idea what the problem is. I need help.
You might need to change the file/picture name to it's pokedex entry, manually put it in the correct indexed file and then repeat the custom battlers/graphics folder process. Restart your game and see if that works potentially.

i fix my problem by restarting my laptop to like refresh everything cause i noticed my game was running a bit lagging of me changing sprites
a pokemon's sprite isn't loading
(rebooted the game, fixed the problem. It was real spooky, cuz i was in lavender town when it the fusion happened, and when i fused the music cut out)
yeah the dex numbers are correct, but it still doesn't work. I think its a problem with my games
This is for like all pokemon, I was just giving and example for my axew and bagon fusion
If you're playing the game on the current version then it's definitely something you're doing wrong because otherwise it wouldn't work for anyone else. It could be an issue with the game, but it seems unlikely if it's not a common issue for other people.
Most of the time when you upload a custom sprite the game will tell you when you boot it up that it has imported/detected 1 or however many new sprites.
I'll just delete my custombattlers as a whole then upload the new one
That could possibly fix it, but I'm not an expert
IF you do this, get the new one from the game zip first

I don't know why this happens to some of you but you're missing the crucial "indexed" folder. Open up the original game zip you downloaded, go to Graphics\CustomBattlers\ and extract the folder called indexed from there and move it to your CustomBattlers folder
End result should look something like this
If it's in the bin, make sure to restore it first before trying to extract
patching needs forever

It's faster than getting the whole thing fresh. Make sure to follow the instructions in the _DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS.txt file

I guess mega had a hiccup or there was a faulty zip in there at some point so some of you ended up with an incomplete zip
or backup or whatever
If you mean saves, they're in a separate location altogether, so they're not going anywhere, but yes, you should keep backups anyway
But you'll likely only need the indexed folder from the new download still, so just download the full zip, then extract just indexed like previously instructed
If you run into further issues after that, then consider re-extracting the whole thing
You'll have the zip downloaded already anyway
And you'll keep your saves anyway
If you start fresh, delete the game files before extracting the new ones. And use 7-zip or WinRAR for the extraction, the Windows default one only breaks stuff

Having a problem where some sprites are straight up blank. I got a jigglypuff/togepi fusion from wonder trade and there is no sprite just an empty space
Directly in, the game only handles .png files when importing, not subfolders or anything else
You had done it correctly in your earlier screenshots, it was just missing the indexed folder so it couldn't use them
I'm probably repeating myself rn (sorry), so its fine if i just put the sprite pack folder into the index folder, or do I have to take each sprite image out, etc?
Download this and put it into Graphics\CustomBattlers\, then start the game and let it replace sprites:

Like I said, the image files need to be directly in CustomBattlers. So if you have the full 1-87 sprite pack, the pack itself has a folder called CustomBattlers as well, so you can copy that and and paste into the game's Graphics folder (so that it mixes in with its CustomBattlers folder), like in the instructions
This way of copying doesn't delete anything from the target folder, so indexed is safe and this is not the reason it was missing from you before
And no, you don't put anything into indexed yourself, that's what the game does when it imports

You can't copy into a zip and you shouldn't try running the game from within it either

CustomBattlers is the one you want to mix in with the game's CustomBattlers folder. The others are extras

It's a hardware issue. Try the alt launcher, it takes a while to start but it preloads everything (it's not included with the light version cause it needs the sprites)

This error is an elusive one and is usually caused by some missing scripts. I recommend trying the alt launcher first. If nothing changes, try re-extracting the Data folder
Use a proper program like 7-Zip or WinRAR for the extraction to avoid most errors

Go to the game folder, right click Data and select Properties, then let it count up the number of included files and folders and tell me what it says

Yeah pre-5.0 can't be patched without a fresh install and even the saves may not be compatible
And you still have the savefiles you moved out if you wanted to go back with an old version
I don't know if anybody cares but after 3 days of hard research I've figured out how to switch the BST values of any given poke fusion pair. No longer will the cool sprite be the lesser mon!
With all due respect to your research, I'm sure you went through a lot, but wouldn't it be easier to just swap the sprites? Of course, changing BST values would keep the head/body ordering in line with the rest
Swapping BST's over sprite swapping means you can choose with typing you prefer of the fusion. You still have the option to sprite swap if the typing you prefer has the doody stats, whereas the sprite swap workaround leaves you with the better stats at the cost of (often) giving up the cooler typing

@stoic sigil after all i did yesterday all i needed was to add the machoke/jigglypuff sprite... all is running fine now
I could, but from the screenshot above how Master Frog likes to keep their stuff on lock I'd like to get approval before doing so. I didn't crack into the Fusion.pbm or anything, but it involved already owning RPMaker XP and having several years of experience tinkering with making, followed by a 3 day crash course in essentials, followed by some other stuff that will stay redacted for now. Needless to say the end process is stupidly simple but the quest to get there was an absolute pain

i just remember sending the screenshot and you said to re-install stuff, and then once that was all done i ran into the exact same issue, so i searched the chat history and noticed someone else had a similar thing just with a diferent numbers and i followed the instructions you gave them and it's fixed now. was just a missing sprite
But it only touches two data files, I think you could make a backup of your save and all the files the modern mode "patch" overwrites, then do the overwrite and try loading the save. Then you can restore the backups if things go wrong

No transfer is needed cause the saves are always in the same place. You can have multiple copies of the game and all of them will show the same saves. So you can modify the game and then try to load your save in that
randomised you can just ask update guy to do it for you
So you can apply modern mode and just test your save
But make the backups or you risk losing everything

But seeing how modern mode only affects encounters and trainers data files along with some graphics, I'd imagine it wouldn't cause issues even mid-save

- Download modern mode
- Extract the .rar file
- The extracted folder contains two folders: Data & Graphics
- Copy those two into your main game directory, which you'll notice has folders of the same name

my game freezes during dialog with giovanni before the battle against zapmolcuno at Mt.Ember. i dont get any error message until i try to force close it and it states that RGSS stopped working. i have tried speaking to the Bug man in the pokecentre and updated my game to the most recent patch. not sure what to try now, how would i fix this do you think? im on the randomizer mode if that makes a difference

Note: You need to have an existing save file before the game lets you restart in Randomized mode!
This is really off the top of my head but if I recall, you'll want to "unrandomize" with the update man before that particular giovanni fight and then randomize again after. Not sure though, try searching the discord with the search bar

This is a corrupted save. Unfortunately nothing you can do to get your progress back. To get the game working you'll need to go to the game's save location and delete the save file

It seems that pre-5.0 saves aren't compatible with the newer versions most of the time

Download missing sprites only goes to download if it doesn't find a local custom sprite file, i.e. it won't handle updated sprites, only new ones. With autogens, it checks for a custom sprite every time
It's not a bug. The messages are based on the ones from the games and only the one saying that they prefer to play with other pokemon means they can't breed, "they don't seem to like each other very much" is the one you'll see with ditto breeding, for example. It still works, but the chance is lower:

ok so friend has booted up their game after adding the newest sprite pack and the intro is loading super slow.. once it gets thru the intro it just sits in a black screen

weird thing was that it was fine a week ago after they loaded the new sprite pack

Could always try simply restarting the pc to clear some working memory and try again. Hell, I've even seen some people get sprite loading errors when installing sprite packs cause their pc hasn't properly finished the copying process until they restarted their pc

Randomizer has some issues in the latest version. I've heard these usually go away by reshuffling with the update man in the upstairs room of pokecenters

ok, so their game was saved on their hardrive (which is semi old) and not to their solid state.. they are attempting to transfer the game to the solid state
Good plan, I highly recommend an SSD for this game due to the sheer amount of image files and raw loading
Slow calcs, probably nothing you can do apart from upgrading your machine, moving the game to SSD or maybe trying the alt launcher (I don't think the alt launcher will help in this case)

likely just need some one to optimize the calc/code one day but for now it's not a big deal. I rarely ever see or run into trick/switheroo'

Okay, this is a bit iffy, but try renaming the file called Game.rxdata to File B.rxdata
I tried deleting the save before and got the same error.
You can make a copy of it before renaming to be safe
But did you try emptying the savefile folder entirely?

It's for people updating from 4.9 and older, where the saves used to be in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\Pokémon Infinite Fusion\. Usually just causes the crash Jason was facing cause the older saves aren't always compatible with the new version

That's... random. What does your Graphics\CustomBattlers\indexed\ look like? Pick a few subfolders and see if they contain sprites
They should be... Maybe try re-applying the sprite pack like you would the first time

Ah, you're transferring. The game doesn't like the name of the savefile after the transfer. If you have just a Game.rxdata in the savefile folder, rename it File A.rxdata

Hey @stoic sigil! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:
- Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
- Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
- Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
- Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
- Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

I am on the light version so is it just trying to load too much
In that case I have two ideas:
- Try the non-light version as it's much more stable
- Try 5.1.1
(All you really need to extract from the full version to your game files is the Graphics folder when switching from light to full)

That shouldn't be happening... Make sure File A.rxdata is the only file in the savefile location (keybindings is ok)

The savefile probably isn't compatible then. They sometimes are, sometimes aren't. Try emptying the folder and starting the game

Actually try making a new save now that it launches, saving it as file A, then closing the game, renaming the old save you moved out to File B.rxdata, moving it back in alongside the new File A and then starting the game

hey, i just installed the game and moddern mode patch for the first time. when trying to play it the game crashes each time whenever im about to have my first rival fight in oaks lab. this is the error message i get: Script ´main´ line 14: RuntimeError occured. Traceback is too big. Output in traceback.log
That's the last thing I can come up with to salvage the save apart from having a separate older version of the game to play that save
5.0 and newer versions don't use the separate modern mode patch anymore, it's integrated as an option to select on a new save

Sorry but that's a corrupted save (see the first pinned message). Unless you have backup saves, you'll just have to delete the savefile

If you have the light version it isn't available cause it needs the sprites. So if you want to get rid of lag you'll have to switch to the full version first (if you already have light you only need to extract the Graphics folder from the full zip)

5.1.2.4 may face issues when randomizing a new game, and if that happens, get version 5.1.1, randomize on that and then you should be able to move back to the newer version

You kinda want to do both. You'll want to get the full version and add its Graphics folder to your light version (that's the only difference between the two), then you'll want to add the sprite pack to get the latest custom sprites as well

The sprite packs name is a bit misleading, it was released in march after the 5.1.2.4 patch, so 5.1.2.4 would contain sprite packs 1-86, but you'd need to add 87 on top of that

So, those mons are not in the Custom Battlers files, but in the 'Battlers' file. Do you know if you can have alt sprites for normal / default mons?

You are looking at the correct folder in the third screenshot. Alts likely don't work with those in general, but it's strange that it's not showing the main sprite either. You could try moving the alt sprites out of the folder in case they're messing it up

This is a bug in the current light version, consider switching to the full version or face this every time you need to download an autogen sprite
They meant move your custom sprites out for now, with ONLY base sprites, so that way you can see if ANY sprites show back up

Was looking over some of the code, seems like it has two separate designations for the mons. Defines 'species' and 'fusions' separately. Further, seems that if a Pokémon has a 'species' designation, it really wants it to maintain its default form from what I was seeing.

Bc right now, there is no index for the trips in the cb folder, only in the battlers one
The issue is that there needs to be a battlers sprite for the triple fusions which then gets overwritten by the first custombattlers sprite
And we've been seeing issues with switching to the battlers sprite when a custombattlers sprite exists
So it's possible that u just make the base sprite inaccessible
Even assuming u get the game to recognize to apply custombattlers sprites to triple/unfused pokemon, which I would expect to be a little trickier than it sounds
Not to say it's not possible but rather that it would probably have a more significant impact on performance
The game has a github for contributing, there's a link in a pinned message on one of the channels. But what you are describing is a massive refactoring and would likely be save-breaking, so it wouldn't likely be included until like 6.0
Yeah, looking a little under the hood. It seems like the pokemon have a species id (same as the # on the pngs), that is what determines a bunch of info about them. IF they are fused, that is when it tries to apply the custom sprites, and is when it checks for the alts.
Makes 100% sense from the dev side, especially earlier on when I am betting no one was expecting how incredibly big this iteration was going to get.
But still something worth considering, even if you could instead utilize the menu where you'd select the alt versions as the trigger, so you wouldnt need to edit the base code of those mons, but instead would just need to fiat a way to change the utilized sprite when selected in that menu.

By the way, I think 87 has some formatting discrepancies with 1-86, so if ur sprites are being weird u might have to locate them and make sure they're named properly

Extract the files.
Open it up that file, inside you will see some files and a bunch of pngs. Ignore the files.

Drag all of the .png 's from the sprite pack file into the games Graphics\CustomBattlers file.

Hello, I was playing through Infinite Fusion and made it past the 10th gym until my friend said to download the Modern pack to get all the latest Pokémon as well. I followed the rules and proceeded to play the game as normal until I realized no wild pokemon are spawning and when I get into a trainer battle this error appears ("Script "Main": line 14: RuntimeError occurred. U now need to run a game that doesn't have modern mode files to get past that fight
Mega's download limits are IP based, so if you have any way of changing your IP that should work. Downloading from a hotspot, anything like that should work. The limit is based on the previous 6 hours

uh so the file is hard to unzip, as in it won't. i tried opening the file itself zipped and it wouldn't load
And that different folder is typically ignored when sprites exist in the expected folder

If ur at ur download limit what probably happened is that u tried to download the entire 5.1GB file while Mega's data limit is typically 5GB
U only need one of the .zips titled full
So the download isn't complete and uve used up ur allotted bandwidth
at first i did only one file and thats the one that just didnt appear in my downloads so i did all of them
If the first file didn't appear I would be attempting to locate where it downloaded to instead of downloading to presumably the same location
I took that from the link that Xillo had in their profile (from another channel in the past), so it won't have any viruses lol

The other option is ur browser is asking u to confirm the download, or trying to ask, and ur not selecting a location, but that usually results in an unconfirmed.crdownload file if ur on chrome

If ur not sure where to look I can only recommend searching ur entire file system for infinitefusion and see if/where it pops up

Additionally I had tried deleting and redownloading the Custom battles folder which allowed the animation to play again but immediately afterword it would either be a blank screen for around 20 minutes and/or immediately go to the screen above.
Yea, this is a typo generated by a coding issue with the download sprites feature
If u can, I would try to mash past the intro screen so that u can turn it off, but if u can't I don't know of a way to disable/fix it
There's a patch for this issue in the works atm

Hey @solemn hinge! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.
You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

U mean in the alts folder?
U add them the same way but they're in the alts folder bc there's a lot of naming overlap, so if u import them they'll probably overwrite a bunch of ur main sprites
the ones in the "Alternate Base Sprites" folder

The Alternate Base Sprites are alt sprites for unfused Pokemon, which are located in the Battlers folder
The game doesn't have any way to recognize or index alternate sprites in the Battlers folder
So u have to index and rename each alt sprite u wanna use manually

So we got this, right, 1c.png
U would go to the 1 folder in graphics > battlers, copy this in, and remove the c. This will replace the regular 1.png unless u rename that first
If u decided to keep the original 1.png, move that somewhere else
Once there's only one 1.png, the game should recognize the new sprite
