There's not a thirst system but you can still drink water. You cannot disable the hunger system that would be too much. They already give you a lot of free will by being able to make your mate immortal by turning mate permadeath off and two of the most RNG related deaths possible for pups (Sick and Unknown Fate) can be flipped off at the cost of a mildly smaller litter

If you play on easy mode hunting without any help is trivial
