At least FE Heroes was actually about Fire Emblem. I think they’re completely misunderstanding the FE fanbase if they believe they can start making games that are completely different from the original series. It didn’t matter as much with Pokémon or Mario, but the FE fanbase is much less... tolerant ? Idk. The game will probably get a lot of changes, but the early reviews are terrible, and not many people have downloaded it. FE Heroes has been a huge hit for Nintendo (around $1 billion), but Shadow already seems doomed. 🤨

I mean the hope for such kind of games is not to have every diehard fan but new people, hopefully whales. Drawing the line at one or another game for such inconsequential spinoffs isn't something companies nor most players tend to do if the game is worth their while in terms of money and fun, respectively. Ultimately what's gonna decide its success is not the FE fanbase but its overall appeal to the general mobile gaming public.
