Persona’s expansions aren’t that pricey, nor needed to finish a games story unless you’re playing persona 3 reload since episode Aigis follows on from it but it’s not mandatory
Plus the dlc for persona is just costume which are just cosmetic and some personas that you don’t need for their pokedex basically

I think the main problem with where that completionist mindset came from was Assassin’s Creed.
“There’s only 4 numbered games, that’s all the main series, right?”
(2 is a trilogy, 3 and 4 both have spin-offs, the next 5 drop the number but continue the story, there’s a trilogy of platformers, several comic books and a podcast. AND THEY’RE ALL IN CANON)
Oh and a short film and feature length film that are in canon

Despite persona 4 being my favourite game from persona, I don’t like many of its OST. Persona 5, persona 5 strikers (a dynasty warriors hack and slash sequel spin off to p5 following the normal ending, not the royal one), and persona 3 reload / episode Aigis are good too. Original persona 3 is alright but I like the newer versions, i recommend the original version of mass destruction tho
