You don't get to recruit GladOS or Wheatley but as consolation you get to fill your base with as many Sentry Turrets as you wish

The past two cases were a flashback to before the first case, that I can understand.
But now the 4th case is a flashback from a flashback??? What is it with the AA games and not telling things in a coherent timeline???

I have a feeling I know where the story will go, but all these flashbacks just seem to set up who will be involved in the final case with no rhyme or reason. Especially after the first case. Also it kinda presents a plot hole. I’ll try to be spoiler-lite but no promises:
Case 1, murderer was ||a very distinct prosecutor who killed his partner||
First flashback case: Edgeworth comes home after time abroad, ||something about a smuggling ring||
Immediately bleeds into Case 3 by way of “as soon as that was done I got this phone call” Case 3: ||smuggling comes up again but otherwise is inconsequential||, also the plot hole: ||Case 1 murderer and his partner meet Edgeworth, when in Case 1 he had no knowledge of either|| then partner from Case 3 says “we met before” suddenly second flashback to Case 4
