i guess the "evil" guys are more like aether, fairy and bug type focused and the leader is possessed
i'd created the tailor spider legendary possessing the cutesy hubby of the depressed and genuinely not evil champion without actively thinking of lusamine being overtaken by nihiligo
i mightve watched coraline around the time i created the needle-leg, button-eye-sewing horror
too spoopy for pokemon fr, it would've benefitted immensely from more implied horror and dex entries
tho having team skull-esque goons running around and actually being the champion's gang(less in the mob sense and more like massive found family) would be funny
people would see the twist a mile away but a twist doesn't have to be utterly unexpected to be written well
at minimum it just has to be reasonable that the uninformed parties(usually MC and their allies) wouldn't know
