Each hull has certain bonuses that make it better with certain types of equipment but you're not required to follow them
Like that Hurricane is meant to be used with Medium sized Autocannons or Artillery, but I could fit it with frigate lasers if I wanted

There's the Hurricane Fleet Issue, which is more expensive but has moderately upgraded stats and different bonuses
And the Sleipnir, which is an advanced variant (or Tech II) designated as a Command Ship, which is much sturdier and excels at giving fleet buffs
And they'll use repaints or slight remodels of the base hull
(but again, costs about ten times as much for the Sleipnir, and requires more skills to use)

It's neat. It's not great at mining by itself but is incredible as a support ship
(Partly because it used to be great at mining by itself and it broke the game's ore economy for a while)

But it can give massive boosts to other mining ships now, and it can compress ore to 1/1000th of it's normal volume
So you can store essentially 1000x more ore in a mining barge which would otherwise fill up in maybe 20 minutes and have to offload

Another bug example I fixed in my current game: You could "double-jump" by jumping on a platform and immediately jumping after being above said platform; basically doubling the upwards force of jumping and getting ridiculous heights
Fixed it by adding a cooldown to jumping

And then I was told by a bunny girl (a literal one) that I was an amnesiac and my sword was found in a “Lunar Ruin”

Think I finally got the gameplay loop. Get materials to strengthen your weapons with a rudimentary crafting/upgrade menu, kick vampire butt to get materials
Also my Cat-Bat sidekick is really a dark elemental that can imbue my sword with “Dark energy” for increased attacks
All of this with a soundtrack like Cowboy Bebop did an episode involving classical Dracula
