So if you wanted an English copy it would be like $300-$400 while other languages were far cheaper

3am with work tomorrow. So what would my brain rather do over sleep? Brainstorm details for my book! I’m thinking of the main character’s weapon this time: The Hidden Surprise

A spear with a head that is trifurcated (splits into three pieces). The idea is that, when it pierces something, it hits these barbs that jut out towards the base of the spearhead, causing the parts to split open.
This holds the target in place for the “surprise” part of the name: the shaft of the spear is hollowed and contains a musket. When fired, the kickback forces the target backwards, while simultaneously pulling on those barbs again, and causing the spearhead to revert back to “spear form” as it were. Freeing the weapon from being stuck, while causing often fatal wounds to whatever it was stuck in.

The idea is this’ll be passed down from the main character to his apprentice because of certain circumstances (called being arrested and having to leave it behind). She’s already practicing marksmanship, and providing to be shoddy with both an actual rifle and bow-and-arrow, so the added ability to ground herself against recoil (her biggest issue) will cause the rest of the group she’s with to insist she take up learning how to use it. (Good for her since the guy who taught her master is on the same boat as her at the moment to oversee her training anyway)

The alien didn’t prove popular anymore so they focused on the Arthurian plot line through Calyrex in the spin-off material (the DLC)

You’re thinking Lusamine from Sun and Moon when she was taken over by an Ultra Beast.
But yeah, most of the human villains since BW (and arguably B2W2 with Ghetsis in that one) introduce incredibly interesting concepts, but all it does is change their trainer class. Missed the mark on that one.

I’m still upset that they introduce the crazed time traveler robo scientist, and all of her moms are JUST paradox Pokemon when there are literal dinosaur Pokémon she could’ve mixed into her team.
Like keep the major Paradox Mon as their ace, but we saw (and fought) the rest already so mix it up with Aerodactyl or Magnezone or something.

I'm working on my own pokemon region just for the fun of it. I'm working on the pokedex by figuring out roles first. This is what I have so far.

I'm going to make the fire starter a snake that evolves into fire/steel. The grass starter I'm basing on several plants that look like birds, going grass/flying at the middle evolution. No idea what I'm going to do for the water starter though.

I feel like I’m in a monster catcher rut. I played the heck out of Cassette Beasts over the weekend, I refuse to back Palworld (cause I don’t like the CEO’s views on tech and refuse to give money to him), and the latest Digimon games don’t scratch the itch (Survive was not what I wanted, Cyber Sleuth/Hacker’s Memory was too dark for me to have fun, and if I wanted an auto battler I’d have gotten Monster Rancher so definitely don’t want Next Order)

Tbf I don’t really remember much of Survive’s roster. It’s basically a Tactics game mixed with a visual novel that gets really boring before the halfway point. Not the JRPG I was hoping for.

All I remember was you needed to complete the neutral route before you were allowed to actually have an impact on the story… when all the marketing said “your choices matter and people can die if you fail.” So I felt I had no agency for most of the game

Also it was depressing as hell, even the “good end”… which means Digimon is 0-2 on unnecessarily dark storytelling with their games in recent years (don’t know about Next Order again don’t care for autobattlers)

They don't make the games for you and they always experiment with new stuff it's hard to find a single one that is similar not even the first digimon world game is similar to next order in fact they don't make really make turn based games the only two that exist are dusk/dawn and one japanese only one and if you really try to see it that way hackers memory/cyber sluth

And try finding a light hearted digimon games they always tend to go dark that's just digimon there is a reason most western people (because just in the west digimon got advertised as the Pokemon rival) think digimon is Pokemon dark edgy twin even the anime was alot darker in tone

Plus next order is a monster raiser first auto battler second so most of your time you will raise your digimon and the auto battler is more in route if their tamagotchi battle system

I know…Just wish they would make a turn-based monster collector again. We did have Cyber Sleuth which WAS good until a point imo.
My breaking point was in Hacker’s Memory when they have the case of the quiet kid snapping in the school and trying to commit mass murder (complete with implication it happened until the bait-and-switch), only for “we’re sorry” “okay” to kick in! 😡 Also the organ harvesting scene in the original game was just unnecessarily dark at the end.

As for monster raiser, I get it. Had Champions on the DS back in the day. But I just don’t have the time commitment for a monster raiser anymore sadly.

Like, I wanna support their games but they just don’t wanna make game I wanna play anymore!

And PP was replaced with stamina and cooldowns so you couldn't just spam strong moves

Which is already giving me confusion lol
