If you're wanting to unfuse a Pokémon you got from a trade: Pokémon with a different OT than yours cannot be unfused! However, you can make it forget its OT in the school in Violet City (post game) for ₱50 000. You're free to unfuse it after that!

I mean shoring up weakness across the whole team and ensuring type diversity is generally good

You're not going to be able to cover everything, don't worry about that. Definitely want a Fairy or Ice attacker on your team cause Dragons are obnoxious. But also a Poison or Steel type cause so are Fairies. Especially when they get paired with their weaknesses which nulls the weakness

Roserade and delphox can be fire poison or grass psychic.
Idk if good throughout the game.

I do know the poison one can hold black sludge for heals and use sludge bomb with stab

Water/fire is killer, and it's got some good buffing moves. Weak Armor is pretty incredible, honestly. Get hit once, and then sweep with swords dance.

So, I'm a little confused. Infinite dex shows multiple sprites for the triple fusions. But I just hatched one from its egg and there's only one sprite.

Triple fusions can’t have the sprite switched from within the game. To use the alternate sprites, you need to go into the triple fusions sprite files and manually rename the one you want to use
