Went on a journey to see if there are even any misses on the Kabutops fusions. (With lenience given to prevos). Because Kabutops is such a killer design, and it's hard to go wrong. I think I found a couple. (Not calling out artists in particular. Just thought it was an interesting post compared to just posting literally almost every kabutops fusion and skreeing about how good they are. - And yes, I went through literally all the kabutops fusions. This small selection are the only real misses I saw.)

Best approach (IMO) is knowing what your team is lacking and playing around that.
In my case I'm doing a mono steel run at the moment: one of my Pokémon is Ghost/Steel with flash fire (immune to fire and fighting), another is Steel/Flying (immune to ground), another is Steel/Ground with water absorb (immune to water and electric)...
They are not perfect nor unbeatable on their own, but they have an amazing synergy together

Hello, today I'd like to share with you some fusion drawings/concepts/ideas for your (incredible) game. To be honest, I don't personally want even one of these drawings to end up as a true fusion, but I still hope it helps. These drawings were done a year or two ago, so it's "normal" that they're not very pretty.

P.S. Sorry, I don't know how to make sprites; these are just drawings.

I already know that Mewtwo × Rayquaza already exists, but I thought, "What if we add Mega Evolution to the game, what would that look like?" So here are Mega Mewtwo y × Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo x × Rayquaza. Mewtwo y is much more stylish and successful than Mewtwo x, which could really use an upgrade. Then I also made a scizor × alakazam as well as their mega that I like a lot (I don't know if it already exists though). I also did the same for Aerodactyl × Beedrill as well as their mega (I don't know if it exists too) and a Tyranitar × Ampharos and their mega (I unfortunately think it already exists though). To finish I would like to present my 2 best fusions in my opinion: already the Dwibble × Tirtouga as well as its evolution Crustle × Carracosta (nothing to say, I just like them) and the best that I made, Scrafty × Krookodild with 2 forms: a normal and a costumed one. In fact every turn this pokemon would change form thus going from normal to costumed. In costumed form, it would take the stats, type, and attacks of the Pokémon its costume references, giving it a moveset of not 4 but 8 attacks in total (that's why I like it because there's a concept behind it). That's it, I'm done. Thanks for reading or just watching. I don't know if I'll make more in the future (it's been a year or two since I last made one), but I still really enjoyed making them, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Spriting is drawing but with a different medium and steps. I came in here as a traditional concept artist first and then became a spriter through trial and error and lots of feedback and advice.

Of course, if you don't want to try spriting, that's fine. These are great examples of head/body order and utilization of details on differing forms. I'm sure spriters would love to help your concepts come to life at #1263858526829416539 .
