Abra line have brain coral in them

Hitmonchan is a boxer crab (look them up. they’re really cool)

Hitmonlee is a mudskipper

Hitmontop is an upside-down jellyfish

Driftblim is a buoy

Nidoqueen line is Ariel

Aipom line are based on the sea monkey advertisements

Omastar is based on coral-like cambrian animals

And Hypno is based on how cuttlefish can “hypnotize” prey, which, coincidently, is also the inspiration for a certain mon, so I made the design an homage to Inkay
