@hollow hedge nope. just place it right here in this folder. if you ever want to stop using it you can just remove the png. Take a look at the mimikyu / flygon image in this screenshot. it's a recolor that I did to match another custom retexture i'm using. it overwrites the games indexed flygon / mimikyu sprite to use mine instead. if I ever want to stop using my custom version all I have to do is remove the png and it will revert back to the normal one.

i bet there's a youtube video that can show you how to do it. it's super easy

i'm not replacing the original file so theres no need to redo anything. this specific folder is for custom sprites that the program uses to overwrite existing models. again when you are tired of using a custom sprite simply delete it and the program will use the original sprite that is in the indexed folder.
