Pikachu body/Charizard head is cute and incredibly powerful. You can get the Light Ball from the voltorb quest in Vermillion City, and once you have it you're both decently fast and unbelievably hard hitting.

Pikachu body in general is surprisingly awesome thanks to the Light Ball.

Thanks to their special boosting items, Pikachu, Marowak, and even Farfetch'd can be much more powerful than you'd expect as the body of a fusion.
