The only tip I can offer is that

if you find the first button in a trash can

the next button is adjacent - including in one of the ones you already searched

so just keep trying until you get it.

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.
• After 29 rematches and gaining 6 or more badges, it will evolve again if not maxed already.

Below are the best trainers to rebattle for exp on their respective modes
Classic (Left)

• Cool Trainer Sofia outside of the League has a lvl 42 Chansey.

Remix (Right)

To fix crashes on specific trainers in legendary mode:

1. Leave the area (if in a building, go outside)
2. Toggle trainers from classic to remix (or vice versa)
3. Go back to that trainer and try again.
4. After the battle, you may change the trainers back to their original setting.

If you get a different crash when you toggle the trainers, try moving to a different area.

Hey @keen scarab! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Hey @shy isle! Are you looking for the Exp Share? You can get it in the Cerulean Pokémon Center from Professor Oak's Aide once you've fused at least 5 Pokémon. They can also be bought from the Silph Co. Lobby for 11,000$ if you saved 7 or more employees, or 8,000$ if you saved all the employees!

To use Exp Share, give it to a Pokémon to hold. That Pokémon will now gain XP without needing to participate in battle.

Exp Share will NOT stack with Exp All.

The first one is located on Route 32 near a ledge. The second one is underwater on Route 19, South of Fuschia. You have to find the dive spot on route 20 and then head east to find it. After finding the two pieces, go back to the secret agent near Bond Bridge and they will use the locations of the pieces to triangulate the location of the mothership. It is located on Birth Island. REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.

To use Exp Share, give it to a Pokémon to hold. That Pokémon will now gain XP without needing to participate in battle.

From the Hidden Forest, you can then enter the Viridian River where depending which tile you enter from, you will find different sets of starters as an overworld encounter. You'll hear a sound cue if an overworld encounter spawns when you enter the area.

Mew is no longer obtained by karma because Karma isn't a thing. The underground temple for getting the Regi's is different, you don't have to get past the Sharpedo you go past that door altogether and do puzzles instead. Minor things that either show up as quests which are tracked on the Wiki to help you, or the game tells you how to do it as you progress the story anyway

It's pretty close to accurate. I just used it last week to get all 501 and I only had to refer to the Wiki for a few mons

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, download the newest spritepack from #spritepack-releases (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

If for some reason none of this works, type ?tag altdownload in #ask-a-bot and reinstall using those files (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

Specifically such as Cute Charm that forces wild encounters to be the opposite gender 66% of the time

(I ask because this actually increases the chance of getting a shiny (depending on version) unintentionally by limiting the number of possible personality values which also determines if a pokemon is shiny or not)

You should be on 6.7.2. As Ymir said, the two are unrelated, but if you update with a fresh install, turn download data on, and toggle off WiFi if noticing large lag spikes, you'll be sorted out.

Wifi is known for not playing nice with this game (or vice versa). Since Android users commonly play on WiFi, you may experience an immediate fix switching to your carrier data

Hey @severe bay! Looking for the Pokéradar? You can obtain it from Professor Oak's Assistant on Route 24, but she only appears after you meet her in the Cerulean Pokécenter.

When you use the Pokéradar, a repel automatically activates and grass will shake. This indicates which tile the Pokémon is in. If you are having issues with the encounters fleeing or need more info, use the Wiki Page: Wiki LINK

Hey @celest ivy! Are you looking for Olivine? Route 38, Cianwood and Olivine City were not added to the game. They were added to the map due to a recent map update, but the areas do not exist. The gyms associated to those areas are in the Sevii Islands. So to answer, "how do you get to those areas?"

How to restore to a backup save

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

1. Open your game folder
2. Double click SaveFile
3. Double click the folder named backups
4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata
