I'm confused. Doesn't ladder gapping still work? I've been doing it with crude ladders without issue (i.e. using only 1 ladder for every 2 blocks climbed), and it seems to work with the other wooden ladder types.

And @deft mulch , I've not had any issues ladder gapping with crude ladders on Vanilla. Maybe you're using a mod that changes that?
