I just downloaded the game and I can't get anywhere cuz the same animal keeps killing me. I tried creating another world and the same thing happend.

@weak summit so why do you think this is not good?

weak summit

the less impolite response would be asking "why?"

if you're getting killed by the same animal repeatedly, that isn't a fault of the game, if you're not taking reasonable steps to deal with the threat

and if it's too difficult a curve to go over, we have Exploration mode and /gm 2 (creative) as options around hostile mobs

you're very obviously not doing everything in your power if you keep getting jumped - animals don't spawn on your head, it sounds like you moved into a pine forest which is home to wolves and bears

weak summit
#

then that is a very unfortunate bug, because you're supposed to have a peace window on spawn

I even set the monster spawning to happen in 2 days but they still spawn immideatly

submit a bug report 👍 you're pretty much hitting the lotto on a loop, by the sounds of it

Actualy it's not uncommon for humans to beat bears bear handed.

#

In real life

#

I ment in real life. It has happend more than you'd expect.

#

I can't avoid a forest if I spawn in it.

#

Yeah. But what am I ment to do when I spawn in a forest?

#

I've been attacked on plains aswell.

#

I see them but I spawn next to them.

#

How has this not happend to anyone else?

#

It has happend multible times in a row.

I would say it but.

it's your fault either way, not the game.

I haven't been attacked while moving tho.

#

I do.

#

I am gathering cattails in a pond.

#

Thanks.

I just want to point out that if the game can easily avoid players ending up frustrated and angry, it probably should

#

Like maybe don't despawn it right away, but have it walk away after killing a player and if it kills you multiple times in single player then despawn it, something like that

#

There's no point in just driving players to chuck their keyboard out the window

What I would also point out is that people tend to appreciate when a penalty or punishment comes from clear mistakes which can facilitate learning.

#

"You happened to be within 16 blocks of a bear" can easily be frustrating.

#

"You stayed within 16 blocks of a bear for too long despite vocal warnings" would be more understandable and actionable.

i think the original DOOM figured this out, even. you have to give enemies a delay before attacking the player, otherwise you don't feel like you have a chance to play the fuckin game

#

partly just because it's a game and people want to play it rather than treat it like literal real life, and partly because you don't have all the senses and awareness that you have irl

brisk bane
#

i mean i have managed to get my items back while the bear is still right next to it, just needs some minorly skillfull sprinting in circles

hollow cipher
#

it's quite silly to be sprinting around bears..

I personally just play with passive mobs. Kinda wish there were a way to be more specific with that setting about which creatures are and are not hostile, cause I'm sure many people would like animals to be passive while keeping the rust monsters aggressive.

If they despawn how am I meant to come back for revenge smh

(You could always mildly increase your walking speed - it let's you comfortably outpace wildlife even if you are hit once)

There’s no way this guy is this unlucky

Literally every single mob in the game will stop chasing you. (That I know of, anyway) Every single thing that I have encountered except for a shiver is slower than you, and most of the time they run away from you after hitting you.

i thought the game also had a spawn radius? like respawning doesn't put you in the same place, but somewhere within a radius
