A simplified brewing and steeping mod. Feel free to ask any questions/give suggestions/yell at me for how I messed something up!

Brewing
Two clay vessels you craft and fire in a kiln.
The Kettle sits on a lit firepit with one herb (or more for compounds) and a litre of water, and brews hot tea in about thirty seconds. Hot teas warm the player and (if Hydrate or Diedrate is installed) hydrates.
The Steeping Jar sits anywhere, takes a few herbs and water, gets sealed, and p...

I know you have been updating a lot recently so I don't know if you have fixed this yet (or if it is even intentional), as I woke up to a new version. The steeping jar recipe in clay forming was just a big ball of clay, it wasn't hollow, solid clay every layer.

worldly trellis
#

I'm aware of it--it should be fixed in the next update (I got lazy when doing the clayforming part)!

Cool, understandable, thank you

worldly trellis
#

Alright, got the clayforming all fixed in the latest update!

should cold teas be meaningfully cooling me down in 50 degree celsius weather? dont seem to be getting much of a cooling effect in my very hot, very humid world. also using Immersive Body Temperature if that matters

#

@worldly trellis yeah uh, i'm looking at the code here and cold rafflesia tea doesn't actually cool you...

worldly trellis
#

I'm a bozo and deleted the cooling effect when I was getting rid of some other effects I couldn't make work--I'll have it fixed next update (tonight)

worldly trellis

Fixed.

medicinal herb teas that heal maybe?

worldly trellis
#

There are a few that heal: hot/cold horsetail tea and a few of the compounds (Vagabond's Solace, Healer's Tonic, Gardener's Brew, and Wanderer's Rest)!

Hey is the mod compatible with [make tea (forked)] ? I really like status effects ftom SaB but i also like the aesthetics and sound design of the kettle from MT

worldly trellis
#

Should be fully compatible!

fervent fern
#

As in fully compatible you mean, it just doesnt break the game, or recepies from SaB can be made with the kettle from MT, bc i havent used MT i dont fully understand how it works, so im curious if i can make brews with same effects as i can in SaB?

worldly trellis
#

As in it won't break the game, make tea has it's own teas

Shame 😭

Right clicking water tile with Jar fills it with water

#

this is not working for me.. 1l of water plus 1 woad flower produces nothing

worldly trellis
#

It's working fine for me--first, I'd make sure it's actually water in the first slot and not sea water (although that shouldn't show the recipe) and make sure the fire is actually going, if neither of those help can you send over your modlist? It might be something touching firepits or something like that

hello! I love the mod, but just wanted to report an issue with rot in the steeping jar. I am on 1.22.3, and I have 2 rot in the steeping jar from someone who left things in it.
I break it to pick it up, and I get 2 rot in my inventory. Then I set it back down, and there is still 2 rot in the jar.
Repeat.
I am up to 50 rot in my inventory now, and still 2 rot in the steeping jar.

#

I did finally get the rot out permanently by throwing it in the water and waiting

worldly trellis
#

Just updated with a fix!

worldly trellis

Hey, hey party people--big update just dropped but for anyone who cares I'm soliciting some feedback on whether or not alcohol, drink mixing, and other features I have planned (actually I have the mechanics all finished) should go into this mod or if you'd all rather keep it tea-centric. Never quite sure how much bloat is too much bloat and will defer to THE PEOPLE on this one.

#

Other options would be berry and fruit liqueurs

#

Heck you could even use the whiskeys for flavored moonshines.

#

Like this brand we have in the US.

worldly trellis
#

I think a big concern is bloat which I do kinda get--haven't decided yet what to do because I do have some pretty neat plans for making complex infusions that will require longer production chains (flavored whiskey is actually one along with things like using ginger bugs to make sparkling wine) that might just work better in their own mods

visual musk
#

Well there’s also Pet-Nat or the Champagne method which you could use with ACA’s bottles, but that then does start sounding like a separate mod

#

But making liqueurs with the current steeping vessel I think is fine for now.

#

Really depends on what new things you intend to add I suppose

Really nice mod! Would it be possible that coffee beans, and cuttings go into the foraging basket from Wildcraft: Fruit & Nuts?

Bit of an issue that's been encountered on my server- Due to tea being able to be made in normal barrels, clients can no longer make certain dyes or other mixtures that require sealing flowers with water.

worldly trellis
#

Hey (and to everyone else waiting for fixes)--I'll get to this eventually. Been very busy with travel for work and what-not. I'll try to push a fix to the barrel issue tonight (I think I know what it is) but a few other issues will be a bit
