Hello, I was downloading the update as I usually do but this time instead of getting the usual security warning and overriding it I recieved a "file is damaged, cannot open" sort of pop up. Does anyone know what to do about this? I have already redownloaded it completely and the same thing occurs.

it's a known issue, you just have to type a few things into the computer console to fix it

This 100% works. Had to do it the other day when I was traveling on my MacBook

Hi I did this and when I try to run the game it doesn't show me this notification anymore, but it won't turn on at all.

I've done the -xattr (I've done that for quite some time and had it work) and I'm also encountering the "one bounce in dock then nothing" with the 1.22 update. Nothing's even being changed in VS' log files. I hadn't tried any of the rc

Problem fixed, I went and downloaded .net again. Probably was an updated needed to happen.

Hold on a second.

You will still need to run the same command as before to get this version to open, but if you are running an Arm Mac (M1 or newer) then please try running this version instead and report back if you have any issues!

Testing out a new Arm build, hopefully it means the game runs better. On my machine (M4 Max) I’m running at Absolute Maximum just with the View Distance lowered to 384 and I get about a 20FPS boost on average with this build.

It does lag and what not, as in I would not really play the game in this laptop.

Interesting. On the M1 Max it should really run better than that I would think.

#

Are you playing it in "fullscreen" mode?

wraith spade

Yes I am not sure, some games run incredibly well, No Man's Sky is super smooth and Factorio for example.
I haven't tested that many games here but those run well.

Are you playing it in "fullscreen" mode?
Yes, fullscreen mode, should I change that?

You should only use the macOS way to go fullscreen, which is to press the little green button in the corner or press 🌐︎F when it's windowed.

#

This can then run it in "Game Mode" which helps with performance.

#

I'm looking into making it so the game will use the proper native fullscreen automatically instead of this weird old fullscreen that doesn't allow you to switch out of it easily and such.

OK Pizza, the performance is night and day!

#

Avg: 112 FPS I am unsure how I activated the Game Mode but it ~~++~~is active because now it pops up a notification, the it has a big improvement on how it runs now.

Also I found that it might be the Game Mode making the difference because having the game in window or full screen (following your instructions) it runs the same.

So that's amazing, thank you very much!

As part of that I'll make it so the in-game fullscreen just uses the native fullscreen on Mac if I can. Then it'll be more foolproof for players.
