Added 3 windows with storage - Sliding, Hopper and Awning style - All vanilla wood variants (Patched Wildcraft)
Also have variants that work on slabs - see pics
They have 7 slots now, the spacing is tight for books so things will overlap but look good when leaving a slot empty between (See pics)
You can place items on the Window Storage with rig...

Update 0.0.2
Have added alot of vanilla items and all of them should display on the shelf fine

#

Added a vent that is craftable in wood variants to allow rain on window sound to work. Just a little workaround.

Mods added so far:

Alchemy

Censership (They do not emit light or particles)

Cullinary Artillery

Tabletop Games

Tankards and Goblets

Big Update!

Added 2 windows with storage - Sliding and Hopper style - All vanilla wood variants
You can place items on the Window Storage with right click when open or closed
Sneak and right click will open and close the window
They have rain on window sound built in so have removed the vent, will quieten when closed
They have wind sounds added which will quieten when closed
(Sounds change volume depending ofn weather intensity)

(I have not been able to make light sources work when placed, remains a sealed room when opened as couldn't get that to work either and no perish time for the few food things like pies I added).

Update 0.0.6

Have added a new window - Awning, opens at the top
Have increased the number of slots to 7 - Can hold any item now, without patching but patching required for transforms, no need to put Moldrackable
Think I have the perish system working, slight difference when open vs closed

(Still unable to do anything about the lighting or the rooms sealing/unsealing)

#

Update 0.0.8

Have added Slab versions of each window, so will sit on top of a slab wall (will only sit on a wall slab a certain way, see pics)

Have Fixed the selection box/ collision box issue
Have fixed the ghost animation left behind after breaking a block when the mod is removed, same for Wildcraft, will clear on reload.
When removing the mod or Wildcraft, Items will be lost so make sure to clear the items by breaking the windows first

Slight increase to sound

Update 0.0.9

Light emitting items are now placeable in the slots and will emit light - works for modded items aswell
There is no variation in light level or colour
Shouldn't be any issues as far as I am aware, leave me a comment if you find anything and I will see what I can do.

Warning!

If updating from a version below 0.0.9

You will have to remove any windows before updating as they will break due to code changes

Hi, great mod!
I have an issue since version 0.0.6 that prevents the mod from loading; I get this error on startup:

It's an arm64 server and the dotnet version is 8.0.414
I'm not sure, but maybe the mod is compiled for a newer dotnet version?

@open jacinth Thanks for letting me know, I have just released an update that should solve that issue. Let me know if it works

upbeat nimbus
#

Update 0.1.0/0.1.1
Should now work on arm64 servers
Added config file - disable and change the rain on window and wind volume, change open/close perish rate, change the animation speed
Better config file info for settings

1.0.0 Release
Feature complete at this point in time, have tried to add more but I am limited by what can be done so this is the best I can get it at the moment

Changes
Have added variants for Unleaded Windows (Plain Only) - does not work with Vanilla Varnished for plain windows. Wildcraft and Vanilla work fine.

Minor issues which I have not been able to address
The room stays sealed no matter whether open or closed
You will not see particles out of the animated window section, everything else renders fine
Unable to add particles to items like candles as I couldn't find a way to make them show in the right area due to the size changes of items
Removed the perish rate timer as couldn't get it to be accurate, items still perish at the appropriate rate and it still says what the rate multipler is

Warning!

This has a major change to the Window Storage codes in order to get plain versions to work - you must break the old windows and make new ones due to this change.
Like in the previous major update you will lose items as it will revert to a vanilla block with no texture

There shouldn't be any issues now, but give me a shout if you find something as I can easily miss something no matter how much I test

Hey @upbeat nimbus Love your mod. I saw you posted a new version an hour ago and noticed some stuff with the textures. I made a post on the forum about it. But im not sure if you prefer the forum or here on discord. So I figured id poke both to see what one you prefer, hope its not a bother. 🤗

#

Also just noticing that the new shelfless versions can still hold items in it. Not sure if thats intended

# flint meadow Hey <@162923987339444225> Love your mod. I saw you posted a new version an hour ...

Hi, I added a comment on there just now, Discord is easier as I can reply on the phone but not fussed which one really

The thing is it's a vanilla issue, for some reason the aged boards and planks don't use the slightly darker overlay so it is consistent with the aged png, everything else does which makes it all lighter, weirdly. Someone asked my windows to be consistent with the planks and that's when I figured out what it was.

Ideally I don't want to make a very aged version as that would need a new set of recipes as there is no very aged boards etc.

The shelfless is designed that way, I didn't want to have 2 versions of shelfless one without slots and one with as I know some people would want to use that at the bottom instead of with the shelf so left it open as it's easier for me

flint meadow
# upbeat nimbus Hi, I added a comment on there just now, Discord is easier as I can reply on the...

Thats such and odd thing, with the two kinds of aged. What a pain to work with.

Off the top of my head, rather then add very aged boards. The easiest way I can think of doing it is just have the finished window output the "alt" color of aged when in the crafting grid itself, then have it flop between the two in the crafting grid. "Very aged" = "aged" when put in, and "aged" when put in makes "very aged"

or just have it be a mirror of the crafting recipe. Flip it left or right?

upbeat nimbus
flint meadow
#

Oddly enough the game seems to have three "tiers" of "aged" Aged, Very Aged, and Rotten for beams at least

#

But yeah. Just crafting the finished window to swap it between the two types might be the simplest way to go about it. Unless the person that was talking about getting the shelf to match with the aged planks meant they wanted it to match only the shelf, and the window frame wood itself untouched. That would be a whole another thing e.e

upbeat nimbus
#

Update 1.5.0+

Have added Shelfless versions, can be stacked on top of eachother or the shelf/slab versions these retain their slots for those that don't want to use the shelved versions.

Refined the shapes to make them more consistent with eachother and textures should look better
Revised the recipes to accomodate the additions
Renamed them slightly to make them more sensible

Changed Aged back to the original colour, Aged planks/boards us another texture so I have made one that is as close to the debarked colour as I could but as planks specifically for the windows.
Added a Very Aged Variant that matches the Aged planks/boards, this can be crafted by placing an aged window in the centre of the crafting grid, can be swapped between versions using the same recipe.
(Thanks to Codyman765 for the idea)

Should have no more Tesselation Errors due to #Null in shape file

Touch wood this shouldn't need anymore updates, at least for a while.

upbeat nimbus
#

Update 1.5.5/6 - 1.22.0.pre-1 (Only)

Changed the putty to debarked wood to match the new panes
Great news! I have added the glass back in, the particles not showing with transparent animated parts has been fixed in 1.22
Now the windows are whole again 😁

I have used AI to make my mod as I have no idea how to code. I have looked at the vanilla stuff to look at code and figure out what I may need and use the AI to help me put into working code and ofc ask it how to do stuff. I knew you added your own transforms as saw them when using your mod, no idea how to get tfedit to work tho

I don't know how to add my transform onto the tfedit section. All I really need to do is change the scale of items, like I have shrunk the lanterns down to match what is in hand so they fit on my shelf.

Hi @upbeat nimbus! Sorry to bother, but I had a couple questions about Window Storage pertaining to the new variants introduced in version 1.7.0. I am currently running version 1.5.35 in my 1.21.6 world, but I really want to use the variants introduced in 1.7.0 so that the wood colors can match my build better and to have clear glass. Are there any plans to backport those features to 1.21.5-1.21.6? If not, do you think I would be able to install the latest version of Window Storage onto my 1.21.6 world, deleting version 1.5.35? Would Window Storage Library work? What about Figurines or Desktop Picture Frame Plus?

#

Would I be safe using the 1.21.5-1.21.6 versions of Figurines and Desktop Picture Frame Plus with the 1.22 version of Window Storage and Window Storage Library? Or... would I also need the 1.22 versions of those?

Hi,

I won't be back porting to older VS now. 1.22 stable shouldn't be far off.

You won't be able to use any of the mod versions that are for 1.22 in 1.21.6 due to changes using latest ARL which is 1.22 and Window Storage Lib code changes/net 10 update that works for 1.22 only.

Also changes to texture paths added to vanilla and the changes to the way transparency works on 1.22 as that has been improved and now displays particles, water, clouds etc. so the glass wouldn't work in 1.5.35, I added my own leaded glass to compensate for the lack of particles etc.

Vanilla added a new trader system so the 1.22v Desk Picture Frames Plus/ Figurines won't work on older versions either.

No worries about asking.

Hey there @upbeat nimbus, it's me again! I just ran into a pretty huge bug with the Window Storage mod in 1.21.6. I haven't tested any of the newer versions, but apparently, too many modded windows in the same area causes so many creaking sounds to play that it actually hogs all of the games available sounds (max of 250 apparently) and makes everything go silent. Took me a while to figure out.

Hi, had that comment from some others, each one played the sounds, didn't realise there was a limit as never placed that many when testing.

It has been fixed in the 1.22 versions. Removed the creak/custom wind sounds, changes to ambient weather when windows are open.

Kept the rain on window sounds but played by one window, sound is played at player position to avoid weird audio issues. So should now work with a ton of windows without issue

This is my new version of the mod - combines the vanilla pane storage mod and the custom window storage mod into one
Uses the new Cabinet surface system instead of slots (uses its own transforms for items if patches mod is added otherwise uses the standard ones)
Improved the animations
Improved the performance overall (works with Linux without the need for workarounds like I had before)
Removed the shelf/slab as not needed and added an edge version which can be swapped to via sprint and wrench, so Left Window to Left Window Edge to Right Window to Right Window Edge then back to Left Window
The edge versions do not have a recipe as with the swapping it is not needed
Still adding features for version 1.0.1 planned release Friday
Main thing will be conversion recipes from these windows to the new ones
